this year i am not going to give up something tangible.. i think more meaningful is to give up or sacrafice something that means something to others- not just yourself- so this year I am vowing to not speak negatively about myself or others...not gossiping, no cursing, no hate.

agree Giving up a food that you like is not my idea of lent, giving up somehting to make yourself a better person or adding a quality is my idea of what lent is about, my kids give up foods for lent, but they are very young and that Ifeel is appropriate. My husband and i are planning on putting less focu on the house, finances, etc, and focus more on quality time with the kids

well i heard that when you are PG you don't have to give anything up. And I don't think I could go 40 days without certain things with my crazy cravings. I am going to give up cursing. I do it alot and I don't want to especially around my DD.

I am giving up soda (even though I started 2 weeks ago). I am also going to give up the bad carbs & hopefully loose some weight!
