Tongue Tie surgery w/anesthesia?
My LOs will be having this when they're 11 months old as their tongue tie is significant and could cause problems with speech. Anyone else do it where they were big enough that they needed anesthesia? The ENT said it's more precise when he does it that way as opposed to when he does it to a much younger baby that is crying. Would love to hear other experiences, thanks!

Re: Tongue Tie surgery w/anesthesia?
No advice on the surgery, but my DS has a tongue tie and our ped has recommended we wait until he's 4-5 before deciding to do the surgery. DS is now 2.5yo and even though his tie looks severe, it has never kept him from eating, drinking and it's not delaying his speech development. Maybe waiting would be an option for you??

Re: Tongue Tie surgery w/anesthesia?
my son had his cut at 8 months - he was already under anesthesia for getting tubes so it eas an easy time to do that - it made food so much easier for him to eat - he kept pushing baby food out
my older son had his cut at 2 and within a week we saw a drastic improvement in speaking
both kids had no problem with anestia - but they do wake up a little disorientated - my older son was 15 months when he had his first surgery and he was worse then the 8 month
if you can ask before he goes in to surgery - ask for clear pedialyte for the bottle - that is usually what they are allowed after anestia
