Tons of questions, please help!!***Update end of op**
Hi, I am usually on the parenting board and sometimes on TTC.
I have a DD, who is three. When we ttc her, I got pg on the first try. This time, it is the complete opposite.
April, May and June, we just ttc the old fashioned way- no temping, testing, charting. Nothing..
Since July, we have used opk's. I have a regular cycle- 26-28 days. According to the opk's, I ovulate every month. Still nothing.
I went to my OB, and he said he didn't want to investigate this futher until we had been ttc for 1 full year. I do have a small cyst on my ovary, that I have been getting sono'd, but he said it should not cause fertility issues. Last year I was having cramping, had an HSG and a D&C to remove a uterine polyp. I had no blockages and they said all was well.
I have an underactive thyroid that I have checked 2x a year and my Synthroid dose is the correct amount. I am a normal weight. I don't have a great diet, or exercise much- but I don't really know how much of a role that could play. I also had my PC do a complete blood work up on all of my hormone levels- everything is normal. I will be 35 in January.
Help me!!!! What could it be?????
How long did you wait to go to an RE??
Can you reco one?? I live in West Islip.
Thanks soo much!!! Tara ************************** I called my med insurance and was told they don't pay anything for IF issues.
I know someone that spent over 30k to get pg. Is that average? DH and I decided, that maybe we will try Clomid, but anything passed that probably not. We are blessed to have DD, but I wouldn't feel right spending thousands of dollars when I already have Ava.
I am going to my regular OB/Gyn in December, maybe he can help.
Do you think it is possible to get positive opks, bet never actually release an egg??

Re: Tons of questions, please help!!
Being that you are 35, I would go to a RE. I don't know what it could be. This does happen often with women when ttc with their second child.

Re: Tons of questions, please help!!
Hi Tara,
We have two things in common: age and where we live! I am in WI as well and just starting seeing an RE. Will be 36 in January and I am still working on my first, so you are well ahead of me. I was pregnant back in May, but m/c. This coming cycle will be my first IUI. I go to East Coast Fertility. Their main office is in Plainview, but they have a West Islip office where I will get all the monitoring, sonos, bloodwork, etc...so at least it is convenient. I go to Dr. Pena, who has gotten mixed reviews; I have not formed an opinion on him yet, I will see how this month goes. So far, I've mainly dealt with the nurse there who has been very nice.
I wish I had an answer to your other question, but I do not. Good luck to you.

Re: Tons of questions, please help!!
Because of your age, I would go to an RE. You may have male factor issues. My SIL had no problem getting PG with her first, then had secodary infertlity and ended up finding out it was her DH.
She had two IVF's and got PG on the second.
I use LI-IVF and see Dr. Kenigsberg...I have liked him from the start, but he is very much a no nonsense kind of guy...he is not the warm, protective friendly type of Dr. he is the tell it like it is Dr.
Good luck in your journey and may it be short!

Re: Tons of questions, please help!!
I would definitely go to an RE. I didn't wait a year and I am 31. They will definitely see you as you are 35 and you don't have to wait and keep trying. good luck!

Re: Tons of questions, please help!!
Personally I wouldn't wait. I would go to an RE and get some answers. It may be nothing, but if it is something would you want to wait a year to find out.

I would look into your thyroid a bit more. The levels have to be right on to get pregnany/stay pregnant. Do some research on thyroid levels in pregnancy then just go to your endo, tell them what you learned and what teh levels have to be at.
