Tooth Buds? BTDT moms...
I noticed about a week ago that on the bottom center of her gums she has little round-whitish raised areas. They aren't little teeth yet, just little round areas. I'm thinking that maybe they are "tooth buds" and they have gotten more pronounced over the week.
Does this mean her teeth are far behind? How long did it take for your baby to cut a tooth after they developed these "teeth buds?"
TIA! She's been so cranky the past few days and I'm just waiting for those teeth to cut!

I hate to say it but it can take anywhere from a day or two to months.
eta. Joseph had buds for a few months before he cut his first tooth. Unfortunately he had most of his teeth come in at once. Maddie had one tooth at a time, but took a few months also.

Re: Tooth Buds? BTDT moms...
She's already been teething for months -- just the buds are new ... but that's what I thought, that this was just going to continue!
DH got his first tooth at 7 mos, I didn't get mine until 15 mos, so I think we'll be teething for a while.
Anyone else have input on this?

Agreed. Same thing happening here. Gabriella took a month to cut one tooth and another month to cut a second pair of it. It appears Gianni is going to be cutting a few at once. Then, who knows. I would have sworn he would have had teeth before 6 months like his sister.

I am with you...Bella has been sorta teething for a month or two but it's really ramped up this past week as the day before Easter I noticed the two buds on her bottom gums...
I am DYING for those puppies to break through, I hate to see her in such obvious pain and crankiness...so unlike my Bella
Good luck! Hope they come out soon!

Nate has almost 12 teeth at 10.5 months..... I've seen the 'buds' come through at different rates - anywhere from couple of days to weeks.

Re: Tooth Buds? BTDT moms...
Kev showed signs ot teething very young. At his 6 mo dr visit the dr pointed out to me look at all those teeth coming in. Sometimes he gums looked so white and swollen - it looked like he had a full set of teeth. He showed signs of teething on and off.
Well - he got his first tooth at 13.5 months. So it is really hard to tell...About 1-3 weeks before a tooth did pop - his gums would be very hard and you would feel the tooth below - like a kind of ridge or point beneath the surface butit was still covered under extreme swollenness.
For you sake - I hope there is a tooth only weeks behind what you are feeling/seeing!!
