Tornado Watch!
I just saw on the news that there is a Tornado Watch for NJ, NYC (including Queens), Westchester, and parts of upstate.

yipee.  Do you know if "parts of upstate" includes Putnam county?
ETA: It is in effect until 10 pm but that said t-storms. Newschannel4.com mentioned a tornado watch but there were no details.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE DEVELOPING AFTER 4 PM AND COULD BECOME

I heard that the tornado warning was for Putnam, Sullivan, and maybe Dutchess County...further upstate. The thunder storm warnings are for our area though.

Watching the news now: Sounds like it is going to be quite a night! The strong thunderstorms are in PA right now, with lots of thunder and lightening. It says it is moving into NJ and lower Hudson Valley (about an hour away). It should weaken as it hits LI they say.
