Totally sick...37 weeks

For the past few days I have had a horrible cold and cough and a fever that just keeps going up and down. My doctor put me on a z-pac and im taking Tylenol and Robitussin as needed, but I am miserable.

I called the emergency # saturday and the doctor said that 100.5 is considered a fever...and now tonight im supposed to monitor and see if my fever comes back and if it does i have to go to the ER for a x-ray of my chest.

Anyone else have bad fevers or get sick during pregnancy?? What helped???

I have been taking cooler showers to lower my body temp....but nothing will keep my temp down for any good length of time.

Re: Totally sick...37 weeks

I was deathly ill at 37 weeks....

Like bad.

It was xmas week and I had a horrid cough and fevers etc. I actually coughed so hard I made myself throw up and I broke a blood vessel in my eye (sorry TMI)

I didnt take anything and I regret it. I was so nervous I was going to put myself into labor and DD wound up being 9 days late (thankfully my eye had time to heal by then too).

REST and drink fluids....and watch your fever....

Re: Totally sick...37 weeks

I was really sick during my 2nd trimester...exactly like you....nothing helped but rest. I am now sick again and resting as much as I can b/c the last thing I need right now is a fever....

hot tea
chicken noodle soup
sleep
sleep
sleep

I took a zpac too, also robi and tylenol as needed. I used vicks vabor rub at night on my throat/chest, with one tylenol and that at least let me sleep through the night.

lots of fluid, and I know it's the worst when your throat feels that awful but I promise it helps.

I've also been downing bananas/fruit in general in hopes it'll help....
