Tough gums? Teeth are down, but not pushing through.
I have felt his top teeth (while nursing) for months. About 6 weeks ago you could see the white and actually see them pushing down. Then he suddenly popped more teeth on the bottom. Now the top teeth have pushed down so far, but still haven't broken through. His poor gums are stretched to the limit and he is in pain.
Could his top gums just be so freaking thick? Or is every child's gums thicker on top? It seems like all his bottom teeth are having no problem coming through. TIA for your knowledge!

My son's top gums were sooooooooooo swollen when his top tooth was coming down. (even b4 it came through). Now his second top tooth is there, but it didnt come through yet and it is sooo beyond swollen..poor kids! I find that his top gums were so much more swollen than the bottom!!

It's so odd. Not only are they swollen, but one of his teeth actually has come down. But it's still encased in the gum!!! My poor guy.

It took DC longer to cut the top teeth than the bottoms. I saw bumps for weeks and felt them before they actually broke through the skin.

Totally normal....
We just went through the same thing here. You could actually see the teeth and if you looked quick you might actually of thought that they had broken through. He was miserable!!! The fact that they were all coming in at the same time didnt help matters any at all. 3 of them are in now but it did take awhile.
