Town of Brookhaven residents..

Have your leaves been picked up recently? We have about 10-12 bags out front and they haven't bothered to come in 2 weeks!!!!! Last week they didn't come and I was annoyed a bit, but they didn't come again this past week and now I am pizzed!!! I am sick of all these bags of leaves sitting in front of my house. I am calling them tomorrow.

this time of year I think its only once a month they take them, even though the leaves fell so late. I still have leaves falling by my house!

Depending on where you live, different weeks are different pick ups.

This week is leaf pick up in our area. Last week was pick up for my ILs who live one block over.

We don't have brush pick up until next year - 2008.

Also, give them a break - One - we have the largest township in suffolk county for them to cover, Two - it snowed twice in the last week with freezing rain, and the employees were working overtime to clear our roads.

My ILs finally had their leaves picked up on Saturday after 2.5 weeks in E Setauket (I'm in PJS). I'm sure they'll be around the other streets this week to get the rest of the bags - I know ours are buried under ice at our curb, though.

I have the schedule and it says they are supposed to come every week the past few weeks, so I know they are not coming as scheduled. Plus I wouldn't have put out my leaves on the curb which takes up parking in front of my house if they weren't coming for a few weeks. I'm sorry, I'm not giving them a break. This is what my tax dollars pay for and they should do what they are supposed to do- end of story.

They came early last week for our 32 bags of leaves. We were so relieved cause one year they didn't come til January and we had all those bags out during the holidays. Good luck!

if you call, they are pretty proactive in doing stuff - believe me!

but I see they were picked up, yay!!

Ours hae been picked-up each Tuesday. We've had about 20 bags each week for the past few weeks.

Zero bags for this week (finally!) so I won't know if they are picking up this week as well.

We are in Holbrook.
