Re: trader joes???

I think their prices are better than the big supermarkets like Stop and Shop..I go to TJ's for most of my shopping then Stop and Shop for certain things that TJ's does not carry and feel like I spend less since I started doing that!

TJ's prices are way less expensive than other supermarkes and they have a great variety of "healthier" items at fair prices. I love TJs!!

I think what the problem can be with TJs is you go in there with a list, and then see a bunch of other things that you just have to try, and before you know it, have a full cart of impulse buys.

I love TJs and wish they'd build one by me but know it would be trouble for my wallet.

They're like my Target equivalent of a grocery store.

So true!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon The one in Hewlett is walking distance from our house and I must go there at least 4 times a week. I try no t to drive there, it forces me to only buy what I can carry home while pushing the stroller with DS in it!

Re: trader joes???

The prices are great, but I find it hard to do a real shopping. The size of items seem very small and unless you generally get pre-made items, there isn't a lot of "whole" type foods that a supermarket has.

For example: risotto comes in a tiny box which would give my family two servings. Maple syrup comes in just an 8oz bottle and meats are in small packages as well.

Re: trader joes???

I do a lot of my food shopping at Trader Joe's. Now that my son is starting to eat more table food, I am trying to buy as much organic as possible. Whatever I can't get at Trader Joe's I get at Stop & Shop- the one by me has a huge organic section. It is not as cheap as TJ's, but I find that if I do most of my shopping there and "fill in" at Stop & Shop- for Earth's Best products for DS, chobani yogurt, yo baby, "brand" name items- it does end up being cheaper.

Re: trader joes???

I always feel like I get a lot more for my money at trader joes vs. stop and shop and waldbaums. Their prices are great imo.
