Transitioning from infant car seat to Britax
I just switched car seats this past weekend. DD is 8 m/o and she was just too squished in her snugride. I LOVED that thing - so easy to take out if she was napping and put in the stroller and run errands. Now, when we're out, and she falls asleep in the car seat, I HATE taking her because she wakes up. Plus, she's not used to the Graco Metrolite stroller either and can't get comfortable enough to nap in there. Did anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

It's annoying. I think we all go thru the heartache of no longer having the convenience of the carrier
I wish I had some suggestions. Unfortunately, if your DC doesn't transfer well once she falls asleep, sometimes it's easier to not let her go to sleep in the car. If it's close to nap time and I see Ryan dosing and don't think he'll sleep thru the move, I just chat it up to him or sing with him to distract him until we get home.

Its just a phase for both of you really.
I moved AJ to a convertible at 6mo and I thought she'd never sleep in there, but she certainly does! Same for the stroller. Its mostly just new and something interesting.
I also had to learn the 'art' of removing her from the carseat without waking her up (I'm a pro). And how to put her in when she's asleep too.
Just takes times to get used to.

Yeah, I figured it would just take some time!! The carrier was just SO convenient! I did start singing to her the other day on the way home because she was dozing and I wanted to keep her up until we got home and she could go in her crib! Thanks, ladies!

This is exactly what I do. I was soo sad to make the switch. The infant seat is soooo much easier!
