I'm so confused with all of this....
When we meet with CPSE in March ( likely) ....Is there different people? Do we have a seperate CSE meeting?
Any info /advice for moving into Kindergarten?
THANK YOU

Re: transitioning to Elementary school
You will have one last CPSE meeting to determine if your child is eligible for summer services and to determine if a referral to the CSE is warranted. If they determine your child needs an IEP in Kindergarten and can be classified, then you will have a CSE meeting in the spring. It is usually different members than the CPSE and there is no county representive. I attend the CPSE to CSE transition meetings at the school district where i work. We have a chairperson (building psych), a psych (the CPSE chairperson), special ed kindergarten teacher, OT, PT, Speech therapist and the social worker.

Our district held a work shop tonight and this pretty much sums it up!
Our district is half day, so, there was discussion about all that as well.

Re: transitioning to Elementary school
It can vary by SD but ^ sums it up.
In our district the CSE people (psychologist, etc..) are different people. Our current CSPE psychologist already talked to the CSE psychologist and they both visited DS in his school. I already talked to her regarding school packets, etc...
We are skipping our meeting to determine IF DS will qualify for mainstream. They went to observe him and concluded he will stay in a special needs school.
We will have our CSE meeting in the Spring to determine what services he will get.
