Transitioning to milk?
DS will be 1 in 2 weeks (boy that went fast). The ped said that I can tracnsition him to milk at 1 year. My question is do you do it progressively or just one day stop formula all together? Do you start milk in the bottle? Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA

Re: Transitioning to milk?
depends....we did it progressively because Aly was on soy formula and I was worried....it was fine!
And yes, we kept it in her 3 bottles a day until she came off the bottle all together at 14 1/2 months old (she was down to 1 bottle by then)

Re: Transitioning to milk?
We just stopped formula all together at 10 months, gave her a bottle of whole milk one day and she loved it so we never went back to formula.

Re: Transitioning to milk?
I'm doing it now, very slowly. DD will be 11 months next week so I have begun to add a couple of oz of whole milk to her formula bottle in the am and afternoon. I started a little early because she hasn't shown any sensitivity to dairy at all.

Re: Transitioning to milk?
When I used up my last can of formula I just started giving milk to Jack. No major transition plan for us...just switched.
