Transporting FROZEN milk on an airplane...
We are heading down south to visit my SIL in a few weeks and I will need to take some of my frozen stash of BM (as my supply isnt always enough for DS)
Ill prob need to take about 40oz (So 5-8oz frozen baggies)
How can I successfully transport these and keep them frozen?

Re: Transporting FROZEN milk on an airplane...
I just traveled out of the country and I had one of those reusable freezer packs (mine was a similac one) to keep my milk cold. I carried it on in a clear bag and just sent it though the x-ray on it's own (out of my diaper bag). You should not have a problem at all

Re: Transporting FROZEN milk on an airplane...
Hey!
How long is the flight?
When I was still BF, I brought about 25 oz. of frozen stash with me. You won't believe that this worked, but it did...
I put the frozen bags into one of those insulated shopping bags (mine was from Trader Joe's) and just put them into the suitcase...no additional ice or anything like that. The bags kept each other cold, and the insulated tote kept the cold in. Plus, if you put it in your checked luggage, it's SO cold in the baggage compartment that the cold temp. helps keep it frozen.
I believe it was out of the freezer for 7 hours, all told...and when we took it out in NY and went to put it in the freezer, it was still rock solid! No thawing whatsoever!

Re: Transporting FROZEN milk on an airplane...
I bought one of those insulated lunchbags and used ice packs on a transatlantic flight. It was okay, but they weren't exactly FROZEN when I got there. I used them first and pumped up a small stash when I got there!

The flight itself is only 2hrs... but between the 1hr drive to the airport and from the airport and then needed to be at the airport 2 hrs early... the milk will be out of the fridge about 6hrs...
Ill try this and if doesnt stay frozen then Ill just use these first...
