Travel System vs. Separate Infant Car Seat & Stroller
I was looking thru the Baby Bargains book and from what I'm reading it looks like they're recommending buying a separate infant car seat and stroller, not a Travel System. Please tell me what you've purchased?

Re: Travel System vs. Separate Infant Car Seat & Stroller
hi. I purchased an infant car seat to use w/ the snap and go (for the first 6-8 months). Then I registered for the citi mini select stroller.

I registered for the Graco 32 infant car seat and the Graco Snap and Go. And when the baby gets too big for that I registered for the Britax Advocate car seat and the citi mini stroller.

Re: Travel System vs. Separate Infant Car Seat & Stroller
I registered for a travel system and the snap and go. I plan to use the snap and go as long as I can and then transfer to the travel system. I also registered for an umbrella type stroller for the future to cover all grounds. I figure that if I have another baby within the next couple of years I can use the infant seat with the snap and go for the younger baby and the stroller for the older baby. Then I can transfer to the umbrella stroller and the regular stroller after that. LOL I know, sounds crazy to think that far ahead but that's just me! lol

I registered for the Snap N Go and the Chicco KeyFit30 car seat. Then I have a Maclaren stroller for when he's too big for that.

This is what we did (except we got a Snugride car seat).

Re: Travel System vs. Separate Infant Car Seat & Stroller
we are doing the graco snugride car seat w/ snap and go and then a graco metrolight stoller for later on...we tried out the travel systems in the store but for me they were too big, bulky and heavy to deal with
best advice i can give is to go to the store and test things out yourself!

Re: Travel System vs. Separate Infant Car Seat & Stroller
I originally had a travel system on my registry and then heard from a few people that the travel systems are heavy so I switched to a lightweight stroller and a separate carseat along with a snap and go and then also put a jogging stroller on there as well....sounds like a lot of strollers, but I figure the snap and go is just for the first few months.

DEF infant seat with a snap and go, then a stroller for later., I got the graco snugride with snap and go and the bumbleride stroller, which actually has a universal attachement for car seats anyway.

registered for a graco 32 and a snap and go for the first few months. we also registered for a city mini when dc gets a bit older.
i did not want a travel system. they are just too big and heavy for me to lug in and out of the car all the time.
