Traveling wih an infant - Question about carseat/stroller situation

We are going to the Bahamas in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out what to bring...

I am definitely bringing his lightweight umbrella stroller to maneuver the resort. He is still in his infant car seat and it does't snap into the stroller. Do I bring the snap & go, too? Is that too much stuff to gate check? We are flying Jet Blue.

What about the go go babyz wheels? They attach to the car seat so u can check the umbrella stroller & either bring the seat & wheels on the plane or gate check them.

You can gate check one car seat and one stroller. You could wheel him around the airport in the umbrella stroller and carry the carseat - or check the carseat with your luggage possibly.

I don't know if the wheel thing mentioned above works on the infant seat.

Thank you! I'll look into the Go Go Babyz. Carrying him in the carseat is just impossible now, so wheeling him in the stroller and carrying the empty carseat is def a possibility!

Re: Traveling wih an infant - Question about carseat/stroller situation

I flew jet blue last october when DD was 6 months. She still fit in the infant seat, so I brought that. I put her in the umbrella stroller and bought one of those gate check bags at BBB (~$20). When I got to the counter, they said I could gate-check it there, so I wouldn't have to carry it empty to the plane. I did. Used the stroller to get to the gate, then checked that at the gate. My carseat came through with my luggage. So easy! Plan on doing the same when we fly in August & October of this year, except with the convertible car-seat.

We went to Jamaica when DD was 8 months old

We brought the snap n go w/her carseat, that's it...it worked out fine...it was SO nice to have just that lightweight snap n go...we were gone for a week
