Traveling with a 4 month old
Is it a crazy idea to fly to florida with a 4 month old? Haven't even had my baby yet, but Dh wants to plan a trip for the end of January. I am VERY nervous because I do not know what to expect. Any suggestions from the BTDT moms would be appreciated.

Re: Traveling with a 4 month old
Traveling with an infant is probably easier than traveling with a child of almost any other age (until they are self sufficient ).
We flew with our first child for the first time when he was 10 weeks old. It was a total pleasure.

I would do it. We're going to Florida tomorrow with DS and he's 10 months. We would have travelled earlier if the opportunity was there.

Re: Traveling with a 4 month old
We did it when DS was 3 months old. We had a direct flight from JFK to Jacksonville. It really was fine. The most annoying thing was that security made me take DS' shoes off
We are flying again on December 30th and DS will be 7 months old.

Re: Traveling with a 4 month old
My DD was 4 months old when we flew to Myrtle Beach. I was nervous as well but she slept the whole way there and the whole way back.
The only advice I can give you was the advice given to me: have the baby sucking on something during take off and landing, preferably a bottle or nursing. It helps to ease the pressure in their ears. If DC is already sleeping though, don't wake the baby, DC will probably sleep right through it.

I could kick myself for not traveling when she was younger. That's the ideal time to do it!
