traveling with sick kid
On early Sunday morning (like 1 am) DD puked about 4 times. She was up until 3:30 am crying and wouldn't go back to sleep. SHe finally went back to sleep and slept till noon. THen she went back in at 3 pm and slept till 5 pm. That night she slept fine. She also started to develop a phlegmy cough. Yesterday DH took her to the doctor since she wouldn't eat or drink and we're going away. They said her ears, throat and lungs were all clear. Last night she was up again crying and threw up again (but I think it was more because she had mucus that being sick to her stomach). This morning, same thing - she threw up once more. We took her back to the dr who said it's a bad cold and there is nothing we can do for her.
WE're supossed to go to CA tomorrow morning to stay with DH's aunt and uncle. We postponed it until Thursday to see how she is. She def is not herself. She's not very playful and still coughing, although she hasn't thrown up again.
What would you do? Would you go to CA?

Re: traveling with sick kid
Well it's so early to tell since this just got back yesterday. She seems pretty much the same though. We've been lucky that she's never been sick before besides a cold, so I'm so nervous!!!!!!

I agree.
I would be prepared for a ped visit out there and probably ask the ped for something to help with the congestion for the plane ride because her ears may bother her.

Re: traveling with sick kid
I'd see how she is tomorrow and then decide. How soon would you have to cancel? If she only threw up once today and seems ok (other than not being as playful,) then I'd probably go. But I'd check with who you're staying with to make sure they don't mind. (Again, this is what I would do.) I hope she's feeling better.

We can cancel tomorrow since we used air miles for our tickets. And DH's relatives are okay with us staying there.
She doesn't seem deathly ill but she's not herself and her cough is pretty bad. But I guess kids gets coughs all the time right? I know that might sound dumb but she's never had one before so I don't really know what to expect.

Re: traveling with sick kid
Having been in Spain with a 1 year old who got sick there, and then we had to fly home with a sick baby I can honestly say.....no, I wouldn't go. However, it's Tuesday. I wouldn't make the call until the last minute.
