Trex decking
Has anyone had this done? Are you happy with it?
Can you recommend your contractor?

Re: Trex decking
We just re-boarded our deck woth trex. I love it, big difference from my old splintery deck. My DH did it himself. we got the trex from Centereach lumber.

Re: Trex decking
For a 20 *20 trex deck with railings we were quoted almost $14,000

Re: Trex decking
One huge negative about it is that it gets very hot in the sun. Very hard to walk bare foot on.

Re: Trex decking
My parents have it but they live OOS. it is very nice looking & you don't have to worry walking on it barefoot. It gets warm in the sun, but they have never had a problem with it getting extremely hot where you can't walk on it (their house is ALWAYS in the sun)

Re: Trex decking
we just got trex we love it!
we had an existing deck with rotted wood and they just replaced the actual deck
it cost around 8500 for a 350 sq foot deck
home depot quoted us 20k- since they only rebuild decks- dont go to them- they are a freaking rip off!!!!!
use service magic- get a few quotes
its maintence free, looks great and they have so many options. mine looks just like real wood!

Re: Trex decking
We just did our deck using Timberteck...my husband did it with some family. Although it took a long time, it saved a ton of money. He literally bought a book from Home Depot!
I like it so much better than wood and it will hold up much longer too - no maintenance.
I will say though as opposed to a PP, it does get very hot in the sun. I'm wondering if that depends on color though - ours is burgandy, so the dark may hold the heat....must wear shoes!!!
