Trick to get rid of burnt rice on pan

Any tricks to getting rid of burnt rice on the bottom of a pot?

trick my mom taught me...put dish soap and water in the pot and boil for a few minutes. Let the water cool wash it. typically gets all stuck on food out...even carmelized sugar that has hardened.

I usually soak the pan in the sink with hot water and dish soap.
