Tricycle or bike with training wheels for a 3 year old
We're getting DD a bike for her 3rd birthday I don't know if I should get her a tricycle, or a regular bike with training wheels. Can anyone share any BTDT advice?

I know at 3 we attempted a bike w/ training wheels & she didn't have the strength to push the pedals. She's also on the tall side.
At 3.5 I recently tried the training wheel bikes in the store & she was able to pedal, no problem.
That's on our list for her 4th bday.
My DD loved her trike & big wheels this entire year.

You know my answer already  DD has had a tricycle, and is almost 4. Last year when she turned 3, she was still getting the hang of peddling the tricycle. She’s got that down pat now, so for her 4th b-day we’re getting her a big-girl bike.

We got DS a regular bike with training wheels for his bday and he can ride it. We actually got it for him bc he had outgrown his tricycle.

DD just got a bike with training wheels for Christmas-she loves that thing. She is 3.5 now.

DD has been riding a bike with training wheels since 2 yrs old (birthday gift) so I say definitely get the bike.
ETA: DD has the "bubble gume" Mongoose.

My dd started riding her bike with training wheels at 3 independently, but at first she needed a lot of help. My son started younger. I would growth the bike, the tricycle will be outgrown so fast.
