Triggering after only 7 days of stims??!?!
I just got the call that I'm triggering tonight. I only started stims last Monday and I'm a little uneasy about triggering. My estrogen was just under 1200 and I only have about 8 eggs over 13mm. (14 in total, but I don't think the 11s will catch up now?)
I'm so nervous. Anyone have any experience triggering so quickly? I called my doctor's office but they are already closed for the day.

For IUI or IVF? I triggered that early a few IUI cycles. I was told the quicker the egg matures it can be an indicator of better quality. GL!!
ETA: Duh, 8 eggs must be an IVF. Also, remember, that the trigger gives them a little boost at the end to encourage maturation so the smaller ones may very well have a chance.

Yes, IVF. See = that is interesteing that you said that about the quality. A lot of the stuff I read online, said the opposite. I would love that if it was true!
I'm just so nervous. I feel like there is so much pressure. Including what we are using for this cycle, we only have enough sperm for 2 IVF cycles (we had 3, but used one up in May) I feel like things keep going wrong and I'm just starting for the first time to really believe that DH and I might not ever have a biological family.

i think you should call the service and say you dont feel comfortable until you are able to speak to someone who knows about your follies.
for my ivfs i had verrrry few follies but my lead ones were 20mm with smaller around 15 mm and up at the time of trigger
and then they hopfully grow a tiny bit from trigger as well.
i say to call just to ease your mind since you have limited frozen sperm. i know i would feel better knowing! gl!

I left a message and one of the nurses should be calling me back soon. (actually,she already called my cell, but it went right to vm, so now I'm waiting for her to call again on my home phone UGH.)

My doctor said the leads--the eggs your body selects as the best chance at conception--are usually the strongest embryos, so maybe it's not that important for those 11s to catch up?
Either way, I have everything crossed for you

I stimmed really fast. Id have to check out my journal but I think it was about 8 days. It was for an iui, not ivf but it worked!!!

For IVF I only triggered after 7 or 8 days. Everyone responds differently

Isn't 13mm small? I've always been told they want to trigger me when most of my follicles were between 18-20mm.
Were you able to call them or did you trigger?

I couldn't get a hold of anyone, so yes, I triggered. I think its soon- yes, 13 is small. Some of them were 15 and bigger. I dont know. I cant get upset. It is what it is and hopefully it works out ok. Thanks to the girls who threw me some hope with the early triggering stories!
