Trip NYC to Virginia Beach
I was going to take the Chinatown Bus. I'm debating either taking the Bus or Amtrak Train. There has been three bus accident involving the chinatown bus in last 6 months. Anybody taken the Chinatown Bus.Also traveling with small kids.

Amtrak isn't direct to VA Beach. You have a bus ride from Newport News and it's over an hour. Personally I would do Amtrak because you can get up and walk around.

Amtrak all the way....You couldn't pay me to get on a bus for several hours let alone with kids.

I would go Amtrak. The Chinatown busses are too sketchy and as you said they been getting into a lot of accidents lately (one just this week in VA killing 4 people).
I m from Va Beach and my cousin took the Chinatown bus up to NYC to visit me a couple years ago and although it was super cheap, he said there was a lot of sketchy people on that bus.
Amtrak brings you to Newport News which is like 40 minutes from Va Beach, still I would chose that over the CT buss.
