TRS/TDA question
I am putting in money into both but on my paystub, next to all my deductions, it says goal amount and how much I have left to reach the goal. The goal amount is $15,000. What on earth does this mean?

Re: TRS/TDA question
Not sure what they mean by that...
TRS has nothing to do with your TDA.
TRS is 3% of your salary, your district pays the other 3%. (if you're vested (10 years or more) the district pays the full 6% contribution into your TRS pension and you should see NO deductions for TRS from your paycheck.
The TDA is a voluntary deduction.... YOU decide the amount you want deducted from each paycheck. Perhaps the $15,000 is the total amount of your deductions for the year based on how much you're having taken out each pay period???? Not sure....
On my stubs, it just says TDA and the designated amount...there is no "goal amount."

Re: TRS/TDA question
I've only been doing the TDA for a year, and I don't think my deductions equal that much. I have no idea what the $15K goal amount is for.

Re: TRS/TDA question
$15,000 is the annual maximum that you can contribue to your deferred annuity. Maybe they're trying to motivate you to contribue more???

Re: TRS/TDA question
Yep, $15 k is the most- but don't feel like you have to put that much in. I don't know why they do that- you put in what you can- there's no need to remind us.
