Re: Tru Blood series

i couldnt have said it better. I bought the first book in the series and i cant get into it either. I should not have watched the hbo show first. Its ruining the book for me. I read the first 5 chapters of the book and gave up. I just keep playing the show in my head as i read.

Re: Tru Blood series

I am on the second one, it's getting better.

The first one was hard because I liked the show so much I often found myself thinking that wasn't how it happened!!

Re: Tru Blood series

It gets better, the last one she just wrote could of been a little better but i think they are using to tie up some loose ends for the new one that come out in may! My fav by far is the 4th. I think the show is going to go in another direction I read the books before I saw the show it may have been a little more bland reading them after maybe.

OO the books are SO SO much better than the HBO series and i loved the HBO series!!!

They are by Charlaine Harris. There are 8 books out so far and the 9th one is coming out in May 09.

They are (in order)
Dead Until Dark
Living Dead in Dallas
Club Dead
Dead to the World
Dead as a Doornail
Definitely Dead
Alltogether Dead
From Dead to Worse.

You can buy the first 7 in a paperback set . the 8th is still in hardcover..

Re: Tru Blood series

OMG, I think I am going to go get them! I on on a plane to Chicago for business this week. I hope I can go before then.

I loved the Twlight series, and have been looking for something to keep my interest. It didn't necessarily have to include vampires.

TIA!

Me too, the one with the vampire convention was my favorite.

I can't remember which that was because I read all 8 within a month!!

I can't wait for #9 - I got a preview of it through her fanclub on facebook.

So excited.

Re: Tru Blood series

I love the series - read them all in about a week!! Can't wait for when the latest book is out in paperback.

The HBO series and the first book does not entirely mirror each other. There are some big differences. Keep with it - it does get better.

Re: Tru Blood series

I just started the 6th book and I love them so far. They are quick, easy reads and totally enjoyable. I never saw the series on HBO, so I am looking forward to watching them on DVD when it comes out and then watch it next season when it resumes. Where did the season leave off on HBO? I am curious where it goes to in the books?
