True or False: The 2nd Trimester is magical!

Okay, so every book I read makes it sound like on the morning of the first day of your 2nd trimester you LEAP out of bed with a glowing face and tons of energy.

And then for the next 3 months you are all a-flutter with the joy of pregnancy, horny as a tomcat, and you could leap tall buildings in a single bound.

So my question to the BTDT preggos is: True or False?

Is the 2nd trimester as MAGICAL as the books make it sound?

TOTALLY...100 percent TRUE!
1st trimester: morning sickness, tired etc...
3rd trimester: babies getting too heavy and you feel like you are losing all energy
2cnd : perfect!

For me -
1st Tri - anxiety, waiting for test results, sore boobs, nervousness

2nd Tri - easy!

3rd Tri - slower, heartburn, sleepless, and anticipation of her arrival

lie for me. Still threw up at least once a week. Heartburn was a HORROR. Prone to yeast infections. Sciatica was terrible.

so far my 3rd trimester has left me feeling the strongest.

the 2nd was absolutely wonderful for me!!! I woke up one day and i was suddenly perfect and full of energy. i was so sick throughout the 1st and i hate to say it but 3rd is starting to seem just as bad as the 1st. my MS is slowly coming back and my body hurts - EVERYWHERE.

OK - where in the 2nd trimester does the glorious and boundless energy come in? I am ready to take a nap at any given second!!!

yes!!!! so true for me!!. i woke up the day my second trimester started and it was like a cloud was lifted. it was so strange, i woke up that morning with no morning sickness and feeling great and it lasted till i delivered. so yes, the 2nd trimester is magical

2nd is better, but I wouldn't say magical. You just deal with the other joys of pg - stretching, heartburn, various aches/pains.....But I will say this time around, I am still kinda tired bc of running after a 16 month old after a full day at work.

2nd tri was definitely the best, but I did NOT have boundless energy or raging hormones. I just felt semi-normal again.

True- felt and looked wonderful.

Now 3rd tri- the tiredness is back, and I feel yucky again.

eh, so far not great. Def better than the 1st, no doubt about that, but its not very easy for me.

I didn't wake up one day and everything was awesome - I had a relatively easy first trimester (no ms). But I did have more energy and felt my best during this time.

with 4 weeks to go, i remember these weeks most fondly lol.

For me it was a LIE.

Granted, I did feel better than the 1st and now 3rd trimesters. However, I never got my energy back, I still had m/s and as a matter of fact still have it at 37 weeks. I did feel better, though, but I definately wasn't skipping around or have sex every day!

For me, not impressed with tri 2. I'm 19 weeks now.

First tri, I did have worries about getting through without a m/c (though after my first appt at 8 weeks, where we saw the heartbeat, I felt better). But I felt physically good, mostly. No fatigue and no nausea, for which I was super-grateful. It made the other little things mere annoyances.

I didn't work the first tri either- I went back to my teaching job at 12 weeks, and I have been SOOOOO tired. I wake up, and already my legs and knees feel like I was standing all day. Unfortunately, I do have to stand for a lot of the day.

That's my main gripe about the second tri- the tiredness, but it's a big one- it makes it so hard to get stuff done.

My first trimester was not so great. No morning sickness just the change in hormones made me looney. Quitting smoking cold turkey didn't help either.

I walked around during my second trimester claiming I couldn't wait to do it all again!

Most of my third was pretty good. The last 2 weeks though, I couldn't wait for it to be over and God help you if you even suggested Irish twins

Actually, for me this was totally true. My 2nd trimester WAS indeed amazing. (Well starting at week 15 anyhow.. I was still getting M/S thru week 14)

I hardly even felt pregnant in my 2nd tri. I was full of energy, feeling great physically, my appetite was back. I didn't show until after week 20 and even then I was small for awhile so I was sleeping and feeling good. I truly loved being pregnant throughout but particularly the 2nd trimester.

1st trimester - awful! And the 3rd tri - boy did I feel like crap again!

Totally true!!!!

1st eh - at 11 weeks I woke up POOF NO more nauseau feeling

2nd ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a relief more energy and fun feeling the baby

now in my 3rd arghhhhhhhhhhh feeling less energy, back pain from heavy baby, baby kicking fiercely, my sugar is too high and totally uncomfortable on couches and chairs!!!

I loved, loved, loved, my second trimester. The MS was gone, I felt normal again. But just like clockwork, as soon as the third one came everything changed. Now I have back pain, I can't sleep and I feel huge. I wish my whole pregnancy could have been like the second.

ETA: Oh and the baby wasn't kicking me in the ribs every 5 minutes OUCH!

I picked other because my 1st trimester was great, I kept having to remind myself I was pregnant. The 2nd trimester was good too and then my 3rd tri I was miserable!

True, I felt the best, looked the best, just perfect. The only thing that actually kicked my arse was my sciatica which lasted for about 5 weeks.

True for me..
food aversions gone, ms gone, fatigue gone. Glowing.. yes,everyone said so. I felt tons of energy and still feel pretty good as I am 26 days away from my due date. I am tired (not as bad as 1st tri thank god) but I can function. Just started getting stronger heart burn, back aches and a little uncomfy sleeping.

I picked other because initially during the second tri, I did feel much better. The nausea and fatigue went away, and I definitely had more energy. Now all of a sudden I am starting to feel more like I did in the first trimester. I'm in my 24th week. The fatigue has come back and I do not have the same amount of energy. I feel like all of my internal organs are being compressed into a very small space, which they probably are. So I guess a little of both.
