Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
Let's talk about how it is a poorly directed episode of "House of Cards" What a timely action, firing the director of the FBI just as he's nipping at your heels in an investigation Unprecedented to say the least. No one resigned responsibly, no one stepped up to talk about the real reasons he was fired. This looks highly suspicious, like he's purging his political enemies. He praises Comey on Twitter, slams him on Twitter, and now this? Why now? What did he know?
The pattern involved, long, and suspicious. Please fill in anything I may have forgotten. Preet Bharrara is fired, even though he was promised to be kept on board. Sally Yates is fired. White House interferes with the Devin Nuñes investigation, saying he shouldn't have to recuse himself, also insisting upon being briefed about some "intelligence" before the investigation committee itself! Reports say that the White House attempts to block the Senate intelligence committee from having Yates testify this week Republican leaders are coerced into dropping the inquiry into an independent investigation on the Russia meddling. Then, the firing of Comey by the President after being advised to do so.
The excuses being given for this firing are ridiculous, not to mention the timing.
Yeah, he's "not a crook"

Re: Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
It's really starting to seem like there are two groups of people in Washington. Those that have connections to Russia, and those that are getting fired for looking into the others' connections to Russia....

According to the WH, bc of his mishandling of Hillary's emails and at the recommendation of the brand new deputy AG. Meanwhile when the acting AG told Trump that Flynn was compromised it took 18 days for them to act. In reality, it's so the administration can hand pick who will head the investigation into their ties to Russia.

Re: Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
Me thinks Trump protests too much. He is going down soon in a ball of flames.
How guilty does he look in his "letter" to Comey about being cleared 3 times???? This guy is not even a good liar.
The interview with KellyAnne last night and Anderson Cooper was amazing.

Re: Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
So we are supposed to believe that Comey was fired for being unfair to...HILLARY?
The more he does shit like this, the guiltier he looks. If he was innocent, he'd wait for the investigations to take their course. There are multiple grand juries happening in NY and VA and I read that Trump wanted Comey to have them stopped.
He's going to be toast very soon, or he will get away with shutting down the investigation, and if that happens, who knows? There is no way Russia does not have him in their grip. Republicans need to step up and put the country ahead of their party.
ETA- I also read that Trump is having people put out feelers w regard to reopening the email investigation. Another distraction- but at least it's better than a nuclear war with North Korea.

This.
Honestly, there are only two ways this can go - either Trump gets impeached and removed or we simply no longer have a democracy. This is outrageous.

Re: Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
By firing Comey, Trump is desperately trying to cover up something. If anyone believes for a second that Trump fired Comey for how he handled HRC is beyond naive.
The second paragraph in Comey's poorly written termination letter is beyond strange and unusual. Comey confirmed to Trump on three separate occassions that he wasn't under investigation? Come on! Does Trump really think we're all that stupid?
We all know Trump's game by now. We all know Trump blatantly lies about little things, but now we know he'll lie about big things as well. Bottom line, Trump lies all the time and about everything. This situation only shows Trump is GUILTY as sin. He only cares about himself.
Sessions recused himself from this matter but yet he was heavily involved in firing Comey. When is enough, enough?!
If all of Congress doesn't demand for an independent investigation into his ties to Russia then democracy is dead. This administration is the most disgraceful and corrupt in history. Trump just keeps digging America's grave.

Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
This is not an episode of The Apprentice. I have a feeling that this will happen again and again during this horrific presidency, people being fired for displeasing the Cheeto.
Off with their heads !

It already has...Yates, Bharara, Comey. All involved in leading investigations into Trump. They were all fired for investigating the President of the United States.

It's depends on who you ask. The truth is he got too close to unraveling the entire Russia connection and Cheeto Benito decided that he could not take the heat, so he got out of the kitchen.
Meanwhile, you have people advising him not to get too close to Michael Flynn and he ignores them. He thought that he had saved himself and his reputation by firing Flynn but it was too late. The feds had been up his ass and Made a quick connection. That is when Cheeto started to feel the heat.
Its like a soap opera.

Slight correction: he couldn't take the heat, so he fired the cook.
BTW, I love the nickname "Cheeto Benito."

Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
As I heard one news commentator put it - " staggering audacity ". That's exactly what it is.
And just to a comment made above - TECHNICALLY Trump is not under investigation. His campaign is. It's all semantics and doesn'tfor one second mean he's not completely entangled in Russia. It's just the cheeto once again thinking the American people are idiots and don't see right through his crap

Yes, the investigation is investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia. But the way I see is it that Trump was part of the Trump campaign, if not the head of the campaign. The buck stopped with him. Trump is part of this investigation whether it is explicitly stated or not.
So now Comey had asked the Deputy AG for significantly more funds to expand the investigation days before he got fired. If Trump didn't have anything to worry about he wouldn't have fired Comey "because he wasn't doing a good job." Comey was doing too good of a job with the investigation so Trump made sure to put a stop to it.

I agree with you completely. It's just the Cheeto playing semantics and thinking that he can "convince " the American people that he has no ties to Russia. He makes me sick

I can't take credit for cheto benito. I think it was Elizarags35 My aunt and I always discussed the unsettling similarities between the dumpster and Mussolini. We also referred to him as cheto man. I think Liz just cemented it together :lol

Re: Trump's Tuesday Night Massacre
This just keeps getting worse and worse. The WH can't even keep their lies straight. Trump just threw everyone on his team under the bus during his interview with Lester Holt.
Putin is getting exactly what he hoped for and more with Trump as President. America looks like the biggest fool. This is absolutely mortifying.
