Trying again after Miscarriage?
If you have ever suffered a miscarriage like me (so sorry!), how long did you and your significant other wait before trying to conceive again? I have such mixed emotions about this. Part of me wants to try as soon as the dr says its ok- I am 38 and DH is almost 40 so I feel some pressure to have another baby sooner than later. Emotionally, I am still so sad and depressed about this loss. Please share your experiences. Oh, and thank you to those of you who reached out to me on this board a couple of weeks ago. I did in fact have a D&C- now just waiting for the results.

Im sorry for your loss!
You should wait at least one whole period cycle before TTC again and your results of the testing from the D&C so your doctor will know how to proceed your next cycle.

Re: Trying again after Miscarriage?
We waited a few months. Emotionally, I just wasn't ready to try again right away. A few months made a big difference for me. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. As long as the doctor gives you the all clear, it's up to you and when you feel ready. I'm sorry for your loss.

Re: Trying again after Miscarriage?
The problem is that I don't get regular periods. I only had one period since giving birth to my daughter who is now 17 months and that was back in Sept. I was actually shocked that I got pregnant on my own this time b/c when we first started trying to conceive with my daughter, after 1.5 yrs of trying on our own, it was determined that I don't ovulate. I guess that has changed since having my daughter or I just ovulate infrequently and irregularly. We'll see...

Re: Trying again after Miscarriage?
I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy and one of the worse things, in my opinion that you will ever go through. I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks, the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I found out a few days before my Birthday and had a d&c a day or so after. It was emotionally draining and I waited about 3 months before I tried again and in that time I had an unsuccessful ivf but did it again and did get pregnant and went on to have a healthy pregnancy. Take the time to grieve and when you are ready try again. I won't lie though, having a miscarriage took all of the joy out of my pregnancy in the beginning but once I started to feel the baby I did begin to relax. Even now, 3 years later, I am pregnant again and will be 12 weeks tomorrow and I still have that anxiety. It doesn't leave you I guess. Good Luck and praying for your rainbow baby!

Trying again after Miscarriage?
I'm sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks in November. I am starting to try again this month as long as all goes well I should be having an IUi at the end of next week. It is emotionally draining it does overtime get easier, but occasionally still very upsetting!! Good luck!!!

Trying again after Miscarriage?
We waited one full cycle, and then started trying again immediately. It helped me to have something positive to focus on. Otherwise, I would find myself in a very dark place.
I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
