Trying REALLY hard not to let myself get stressed!!!!!! (long vent-sorry)

Okay, DH and I live in a 2 BR apt w/ my brother. We had told my brother when I was 6wks and we decided he'd move out, and we decided Mar 1 was a good date. Then we re-evaluated things, and determined that our computer room could be converted to a BR for my brother--this would help us financially b/c we'd still be paying 1/2 the rent, not the whole thing. Fine.

So, DH and I have been doing our part to clear out the computer room of our stuff. I even offered to vac & dust, put up curtain on the door (it's all little windows), and other little things. I told my brother that we'd be done with getting our stuff by today the latest, and he could start moving his stuff today and tomorrow. And we wanted his stuff moved this weekend b/c we're having the carpet in his old room (to be the nursery) cleaned Monday and getting the furniture set up this week, MOSTLY b/c my shower is next Sunday and I do not want to come home fro the shower and have the keep stuff in boxes, packed up. I want to get the room set up. Also, my dad and step mom are coming the end of March for a visit, dont want clutter everywhere.

So I come home today, Brother had left for work (he bartends) and NOTHING WAS DONE!! Not a damn thing was moved nor cleaned NOTHING! I understand there is not a whole lot of stuff in his room, but come on!

I'm afraid he won't have the room cleaned out in time for the carpet cleaning appt on Monday! I've told him this and he says "okay". I didn't know someone could procrastinate so much!!!! Oh, he's 36, but acts like he's 16!

Please! DH has said this more than once. I care too much.

DH told me that last weekend, while he (DH) was busting his a$$ moving stuff my brother said "If I go get food and sit here on the chouch, will I be in your way?" DH was SOOOO Mad!!! Glad I wasn't here to hear that!

Tell him if he doesn't move stuff by noon that he will start paying more of the rent. That extra money will go towards your moving-his-crap fee.

If he doesn't do it tomorrow, move his stuff to the back yard or something. That would get your point across for certain!

Hmmmmm, I like the sound of that!!

Actually, he HAS to get his stuff oout, carpet cleaners are coming bet 8-12 monday!! Not for nothing, I only asked him to help DH move a desk downstairs to storage ---PS it's my BROTHER'S desk.

Man, I am so not motivated to do anything else. 2 can play this procrastination game.....but I know it makes DH mad! DH is very organized and border obsessive compulsive!

I know it might s uck and really it should be his responsibility, but just move his stuff for him. If he dares to complain, punch him.Chat Icon

It's not like you are pressuring him OUT, you are pressuring him to shift from one room to another. Totally different and you have a deadline in place because you are investing money in preparing another room.

My own mother procrastinates much worse...and she's OCD. Age and maturity actually have little to do with people sometimes.Chat Icon
