Trying to do a week vacay for about $3500 - any ideas?
For our anniversary trip - $3500 to include airfare and accomodations, prefer all-inclusive.
We've been to Sandals Ocho Rios and Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya.
Any suggestions are appreciated!!!!

we loved jamiaca ( royal something a part of sandels) IF your into the beach any allinclusive resort im sure would work, It all depends on the time of year how much it is going to be. You can go to a travel agent and see what they have ( you dont have to book thru them I find it cheeper online) good luck lest us know what you choose

Quote from t3ch View Post : I just booked a 7 day/6 night vacation thanks to this thread. THAAAAAAAAAAANK you slick deals. +5,000,000 rep.
Dulles, VA (IAD) -> Honolulu, HI (HNL) May 7 - May 13 - leaving early on the 7th, and late on the 13th.
I got this trip down to $470 at the cheapest hotel I was willing to stay at (Queen something by Diamond Head), but we decided to opt for the Aqua Palms and Spa, and an AA flight for the mileage, which brought it up to $530/pp. We also got a convertible for the entire vacation for $103 using priceline.
I was originally planning for the 8th-14th, and also tried some starting at 9th, 10th, etc. but it was consistently $100+ more than the prices for the 7th. I also did a ton of research seeing if I could beat the Orbitz deal using priceline, hotwire, expedia, travelocity, etc.... Nothing comes close. This Orbit deal + pricewatch car = AWESOMEAWESOME.

Plenty of all-inclusives will fall in that price range, depending on the room that you want. I highly suggest Excellence Punta Cana in DR. Other's I've looked into in that price range: Couples Swept Away in Jamaica (really any of the Couples Resorts), Excellence Playa Mujeras in Mexico, Riu in Aruba, Sandals in Montego Bay, Riu in Playa del Carmen, Riu in Ocho Rios... the list goes on. You could also do a cruise.

You can definitely do Aruba for that amount. We stayed at the Tamarijn and spent less than that but its not "fancy" at all. . . but check out the other A/I in Aruba.

Re: Trying to do a week vacay for about $3500 - any ideas?
Thanks everyone!!
I figured we could do Sandals again.
I was thinking Antigua - originally we wanted to do Alaska - but I think that will be too much.
DH isn't much of a cruiser, so that's out... we're also going to Disney in Sept or else that would be an option.
I'm so tired of going (like we go all the time - not) to beaches/resorts but they do seem to give us the most bang for our buck. I wish I had more balls to plan us a neat vacay. I'm always so nervous that I won't know where to go/what to go - so we'll be bored.

we went to Sandals Antigua for our HM and it was fantastic! The beach is gorgeous and the food is so good! We stayed on the Caribbean side (not the new mediterranean side) and saved a lot of money that way. We didn't have the butler service, which we totally didn't need, and saved a lot of money that way as well. Feel free to fm if you have any questions.

Excellent (pun intended!!) choice, and just what i was going to recommend. DH and I had the most amazing time there in October, and you'll come in under budget for sure. i just saw a good deal on cheapcarribbean actually. i was tempted to book, but i'm tending to other (less fun) matters instead...
