Trying to figure out childcare- wwyd
I work on a school calender. This year I worked 4 days. monday the twins were with a sitter and tues-thurs they were with my parents.
Trying to figure out what to do for next year. The twins will be 20 months old.
My parents are undecided if they can commit to another year (they love to travel- 2 month trips) If they decide to watch them it would only be 2 days a week so when they are gone my dh can take vacation days to stay home with them.
My babysitter that I have one day this year can not do another day (she works with another family)
I plan on working 4 days again...so if my parents do 2 days and my sitter does one...then would I get another sitter for the 4th day....I feel like having them with 3 different people is alot and there isn't enough consistency kwim?
Part of me feels like I should put them into a daycare setting for 2 or 3 days even though I love my sitter.
Im so confused! if you made it this far and understand my rambling please let me know what you would do!
and if you have an in home daycare you recommend in south shore nassau or western suffolk please let me know TIA

Re: Trying to figure out childcare- wwyd
I'd find a daycare that did part time, maybe you could put your kids in daycare 2-3 full days a week and with your parents the other time. Maybe your parents can do 3 part days - and either pick them up at lunch time if they are free. When your parents go away, the kids can go full time and be settled with the school - did this make any sense?

I would do 3 days daycare and 1 day with the sitter you like. When your parents are home it would be helpful if they can sometimes drop off and pick up the babies from day care, if they want, so you don't have to do that while trying to get to/from work, one less step. parents still involved yet can definitely still travel as much as they want and babies will have consistency.

My DS gets shuffled around between 3 different places each week. It's a pain for me but he transitions easy and I think it's because of that.

My DS as well has a host of different people taking care of him. He's with my parents 2 days a week, a cousin 1 day a week and my FIL 2 days a week. He does pretty well. He goes to my parents house, but the other days everyone comes to us.

I think I would look for a part time daycare. For me the consistency and socialization are factors at this age. Then you don't always have to think about what day it is and where the kids are going. Jmo
