TTC and Travel-update at bottom

Dh and I want to take a trip in April for our anniversary. I am not pg yet, so I feel like I should go for it. However, if I become pg before this trip I just worry that I will feel sick while we are away.

Should I let the "maybes" stop me from going? I could still enjoy a trip to the caribbean while pg right? It could be a last trip before babies right???

hmm... it sounds like you want to go - so you should. Its personal preference. Feeling nauseaus on the beach sounds better than nauseaus in NY = flip side it might put a damper on things

I am hesitant to spend the money on a trip that I might not feel well for. But I am not even pg yet, and may not be at that time. It is a gamble. Plus I could get pg and not feel sick at all. I don't know what to do!

Im kind of in the same situation and I would say go. We're planning 4 trips between now and May (3 of them to different countries) and I think we're going to just go for it. I wouldnt book something for 8-9 mos from now but my attitude is i'm not going to let TTC hold me back bc who knows how long it will take (hopefully not long, but I just wouldnt put life on hold for an indefinite amount of time is all im saying). If you dont feel well, you wont feel well here either so why not at least be lounging by the beach/pool or whatever activity you enjoy to make you feel a little more comfortable, right?

I went to St. John when I was 3 months along. For me, I was most sick during the first 12 weeks (I was just terribly nauseous). Aside from being on a boat and feeling queezy, I believe that being away, warm and on a beach helped those symptoms heal themselves Chat Icon Totally go for it!

I have plans just as you do for around that time. You just do not know where you will be at that time - maybe you will be one, two or three months pg. Maybe you will not be pg at all. You should plan it & maybe take out traveler's insurance? I know that sounds nuts, but if you are concerned about not being up to it, at least you have that reassurance. I honestly feel that if you do get pg, you should be able to go, you just will not be able to drink alcohol. As far as sickness, from what I hear, not everyone gets sick & it could hit at another time, not the week you are gone. If you were planning it for later in 2007, I might be reluctant. However, for April, even if you were to get pg tomorrow, you will be about 3 months along & probably ok to go. Best of luck to you & happy holidays!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Go for it. If you're lucky, you'll be pg and have a great trip to look forward to ... if you're not pg, you'll still have a trip to look forward to! Chat Icon
