Tubes in ears?
So Sara had tubes put in her ears on March 19th. I thought all was going great for she is starting to babble more and say some more words. I am so upset, when we went for the post - op appointment yesterday the doctor said both tubes are 100% clogged . It is as though she doesnt have tubes in her ears . They did a hearing test and although her hearing did improve it is not what it should be. We now have to put drops in Sara's ears 2x a day for 2 weeks which is not fun. I hope the drops work - or we have to replace the tubes .
Has anyone else heard of this happening. I just want her to be ok.

Re: Tubes in ears?
Hope all is okay! I thought they could suction the fluid out of the tubes.
Wish us luck. We are going on Wednesday for Syd's tubes.

Re: Tubes in ears?
My friends daughter still gets infections and her's are clogged alot so instead we choose to go with Chiropracture for Jack when we learned he had middle ear effusion and we redo hearing tests every 3 months or sooner if I'm worried. I believe my friends daughter will be getting her anadoids and tonsils out next.

Re: Tubes in ears?
Did anyone's Ped recommend a preventative antibiotic for effusion ? Ryan has fluid behind his eardrums, his last ear infection was cleared up w/the Rocefin shot (3-day course after 2 failed antibiotics) but there's still fluid. Dr. says preventative antibiotics should head off any more ear infections. This is the last step before ENT specialist and tubes.
