Tummy Time
When did you all start tummy time and how often did you do it? I know I should be doing it more often. We only get about 2-3 times a week in right now.

Re: Tummy Time
I started when he was around 2 weeks old and did it once a day. In the beginning I only left him on his tummy for a minute or two. He basically let me know when he was done!

Re: Tummy Time
You really should be doing it everyday as long as you can even if it is for 5 minutes. At this age they don't really care for it so let them cry a little but it helps with there muscles and neck strengthning.
We do tummy time because the babies are always on their backs. not like when we were babies when we slept on our stomach.
I know it is hard but try to make time for it..

Re: Tummy Time
I started at around 3 or 4 weeks. I wish I would have started earlier. He would only stay on his stomach for a minute or two. He hated it, he would just lay there crying. Then one dayhe loved it.

Re: Tummy Time
Tummy time was torture in the beginning. She would get so angry (in under a minute) and take a really long time to recover! So, I only did it like 2 or 3 times a week consistently on the ground. I made sure to give her lots of time lying on top of me, with me leaning back at a 45 degree angle. She would push up and work her neck without getting so upset. At four months when she learned to roll onto her tummy herself, suddenly she didn't mind and would hang out there for longer periods.
Personally, I don't see why it should be forced. Whats the rush?

Same here. I do try to get him on his tummy when he's awake though too.

Re: Tummy Time
At 2-3 weeks we tried doing Tummy Time. Matthew didn't like it at all to start with. We started with about 5 minutes a day - if that. Slowly over time he got more and more use to it.
