Two Sacs, One Baby?
My sister is 11 weeks and had a sono today. They saw 2 sacs but just one baby. She was dissapointed because she thought for sure she was having twins. Just an instinct she had! (she already has four). Is this common?

Re: Two Sacs, One Baby?
It does happen often and is called Diappearing Twin syndrome - happened to me the first time I got pg. We never got a heartbeat from the second sack and the next time I went to the Dr., it was gone. I also started going very early because I was spotting...about 8 weeks.
Apparently many women start off carrying twins but the second one "disappears" before they even have the first sono.

When I was pregnant with Hayley I had that. The 2nd sac was empty, my body just reabsorbed it.

Re: Two Sacs, One Baby?
are you sure it was a sac and not a clot? I had a clot (prisac hematoma) and it was reabsorbed by my body and now everything is fine. But it was scary in the beginning because they put me on high risk.
