I finally hit 1000! woo hoo!

Uggh. My email was hacked! Now what?
I think my email was hacked. All my contacts are getting spam emails that I obviously didn't sen them.
So now what do I do?
Do I have to change my email address and change it on every site I visit/ make purchases from?

You need to change your password ASAP
And make it something hard to figure out- with like lower case, upper case, symbols etc
I had this happen to me and changing my password to a complicated one fixed the issue

Nothing bad happened to me = other than the spam!

was this a Yahoo email address? My contacts also got email from mine that I did NOT send. Yahoo website said to change password (like OP said) immediately. I've had the same pw for about 8yrs thats prob why mine was tampered with.

I had this happen to me not too long ago.
it was an old hotmail account I used to sign up for online shopping sites, etc.
I was super paranoid because it can cause viruses.
I cancelled the account and changed passwords and downloaded anti virus software. It did find 2 trojan viruses, I could have had them from something unrelated -but this is what I did.
I no longer use that email address, but like I said, it was kind of a fake address to begin with.

Changing your password should correct the prob.

Yes. It was yahoo. I change my password and sent an email to customer care about the problem.
