UGH! This cup situation is driving me insane!

So, I am trying to wean Megan off the bottle. She never was CRAZY about them. Her night time and morning ones were the ones she seemed she needed so I thought getting rid of the daytime ones would be easy. Well for the most part it is, because she doesnt cry for it.

BUT..

She refuses to drink out of ANY cup. I have spent so much money on every type and she just will not do it. I bought her the nuby soft spout (I think Ddunne suggested it) and she got the liquid out easier but she still HATES it. She will take one sip and then throw it. So of course I have been giving her more cheese and yogurt to supplement. But now she isnt drinking water. She will only take it out of the bottle. I dont want to go days without her drinking water!

Megan is STUBBORN! It doesnt matter how thirsty she is, if she doesnt want to do it, then she doesnt. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I dont know what to do to get her to like it? Should I just stop trying to get her off the bottle and try again in 2 weeks or something??? I am at a loss here and I am wasting money trying so many different cups.! Advice is MUCH NEEDED!!! TIA!

My advice is don't worry about it! I don't know any 18 year olds who only drink from a bottle, when she is ready, she will get the hang of it! Don't push it if she doesn't want it.

Relax. Don't do it. That was Frankies advice, and its mine too!

Did you try the nuby straw cup? That's the only one I have had success with and so have many other mommies. Good luck!

That's the only one my DD took too as well. We started offering sippy at 9-10 months old. ONly now, she's 16 months old she just started, like this past weekend just started taking regular sippy cups and the other kind of nuby. Even then she only takes a sip here and there.
She still gets milk in her bottle though in the am and pm.

Like others said, don't force it, she won't be going to kindergarden with a bottle. Just keep trying and offering, but don't force. If you force it will become a battle of wills between baby and mommy.

I am having the hardest time getting Ali off bottles too - She has her morning one and her night one - but those are her only too.

I had the hardest time getting her to use ANY sippy cup! I tried them all
This is the only ones that she will use

No spilling and drinks milk out of them occasionally too! But not enough - I still have to give her the bottle Chat Icon
Have you tried these cups? Maybe try them - but I am in the same boat getting her off the bottle - and don't even get me started that she rarely even holds her bottle too Chat Icon

Ryan only recently started drinking water out of a sippy at 12 months old - he would just chew and throw it before then even though I gave it to him for 3 months prior. He gets 3 formula bottles/day because I know he wont drink enough out of the sippy yet. They'll do it when they're ready, he just started drinking one day vs. chewing on it and I was shocked. I thought he'd never get the hang of it.

Oh Marcie...I feel your pain. We are in the same boat. Can wean him off the bottle and he still refuses to hold it. He does hold a sippy cup....Go figure that one out. I've even put handles on the bottle to make it seem as if it were a sippy cup but still no go...He drinks water from the nuby straw cups. It's the only ones he can drink out of. I've others and no success because he does not tilt his head back. So I just gave him the straw ones...
