Ugh-today I hate being a working Mom!

DS got sick over the weekend and has had a fever the last few days. Mild, not horrible, but over 100 with a cough and stuffy nose. So he cannot go to daycare.

I stayed home with him yesterday, but have missed soooo much time from work due to illness or snow (daycare closings). DH cannot miss work this week. So today we had to hire a babysitter to come watch him. She seems good, checks out, has great references, but I don't like leaving him with a stranger especially when he's sick.

The money issue bugs me--it barely pays for me to be at work when you figure in daycare costs AND the babysitter. But I really hate leaving him alone with someone we really don't know, especially sick. It should be me--I so want to be home with him. Granted he sounded happy when I called, and he's playing, not laying around very ill, but still.

This stinks. What am I doing?

try not to beat yourself up you are doing the best you can and you'll be home before you know it
