Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous - updated
WARNING: Some TMI invovled
I know I know I sort messed up.. Try not to lecture me too much, because trust me I think I beat myself up enough.
So yesterday I was all set to run errands and have a great busy day (my way of getting lots of walking in). My hubby and I stopped for a quick slice of pizza at our favorite place. NOTE: I have eaten here before pre/post preggo.
We both had a slice of margarita (mozz & sauce) nice and hot.
Off we go and about 10mins later ... I get an IBS episode. I haven't had one is sooooo long. ugh.
I swipe clean but feel 'wet'. So I wipe and find a wad full of bright red cm. Three wipes worth!! I look in the toliet and I've dripped blood so bad, its collecting in the bowl!! And its not coming from my bunghole.
Ok, so I am sorta freaking out. Told my hubby and said I'd just have to take it easy, stay hydrated and see what happens. If I still had red this morning I'd go to an ER.
Well, all day I'm thristy and running to go tink (#1) but no blood. First few times I had some brown smudges but nothing reallly.
Later that day.. Jim's tummy is doing barrel rolls. He thinks its the mozzerella we had. He doesn't have IBS but said he was upsetting his tummy.
SOOOOO
Today, nothing's happening. All is well. No blood, no brown, nothing..
I have a doctor appointment in two weeks. You think I'm ok for now and just let him know.
And do you think it was the mozzerella?
Sorry for all the WAY too personal TMI but I want your thoughts. I have a habit of not being concerned about my health... its a fault. I am used to 'letting things go'. I know, bad. But now I have to remember I'm living for two!
ETA : removed some TMI
NEW Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
Update:
Just so you know.. You ladies are very awesome.
Nothing too harsh was said. Nothing made me feel stupid. I really appreciate that.
Ok, so I called the doc's office earlier today about 2pm. Took awhile for them to get back because my cell phone (????) anyway..
Doc on call says I may have had blood from my placenta irrate my uterus which was the blood I saw. The IBS episode had nothing to do with it but added more pain and pressure. The irrated uterus would have been painful enough on its own.
He suggested I call my doc Monday morning and make an appt for a sonogram which I will do first thing in the morning.
See I listen to you girls!
Thank you all!

Quite honestly, if it were me, I'd get on the phone with my doctor and get an appointment. You just want to make sure everything's fine. I'm sure it is, but waiting two weeks will most likely make you nuts. Hang in there and you didn't do anything wrong. Just let it be a wake-up call that you have to take the best care possible of yourself so that you can take the best care possible of that bun baking in the oven.

It's good that the bleeding has stopped and you didn't mention any cramping associated with it. I would put in a call to your doctor though.

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
Well my doctors office isnt open on Satrudays and Sundays
I see no problem giving them all call tomorrow (monday) and see what they think.
See im REALLY bad about worrying. Trust me I worry but I am one of those folks who treat things as they come. I take my vitamins, watch what I eat (for IBS and for the creature within) and its part of my life. But if its just a passing thing like a cold or something... I treat it like a papercut and sorta out of sight out of mind.
Worse. I have a one week rule. If I'm sick, not well or not 100% in anyway for 1 full week, I see a doctor. However, if I see improvement within 4 days I don't.
Thats why I wanted your opinion.. sometimes I think I'm good and others look at me like I'm an alien saying I should be in some hospital bed. I just don't get nervous enough I guess.
I don't want to say I don't care.. but I'm really prepared to not worry about this and just call the doc on Monday and he feels I MUST come in, I will if not, then I can wait.
I feel fine. No pain, no soreness, nothing. I think it's passed. I think I just need to be careful what I eat (or even MORE so). I really don't think this will weigh on my mind for two weeks. What is, is. I can't stop what's going on down there, good or bad, right?

Well cramping was there (oh boy was it) prior to me going to the bathroom
I always used to figure my IBS episodes were practically contractions.. since i have no experience though I couldn't say
ETA: Lets put it this way... when I had my cervical cancer epsiode and they had to do the biopsy they said it would feel like I cramp. Since I don't get cramps with my AF I had no idea what to expect. It hurt and I hated it, but even that ripping pain was NOTHING compared to my IBS. It was more like a misquito bite in comparison to breaking an arm. Make sense?

Every OB has a service and I'd call it.
I do NOT freak out. But when I was 20 weeks I had bleeding after sex and they sent me to the hospital and it turned out I had a poylp and I was put on pelvic rest for the rest of my pregnancy.
Had I not gone, I wouldn't have known and it could have put me into labor.

Your Doctor has a service that takes calls and pages in an emergency. I would call. It's better to be cautious and safe.

Ok, first, from your post - I can't really understand which "end" the blood is coming from? But, if you are worried that the cheese did something to cause the bleeding - no way! The worst the cheese could do would be to make you sick or get a bacteria infection - listeria.

That sounds to me more like it might be coming from your back passage and it might be a fissure, thats what happens and if you have had an IBS incident, you could have done yourself some damage. I know you said it wasn't from your bum, but with a toilet full of blood, well thats what happens with an anal fissure exactly. Don't discredit that in your panic it might be anal. I had one and it was horrible, so just mention it to your doctor.

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
I deleted some of my original post from embarassement
I wiped clean my back area.
The blood was definately coming from the errr 'front area'.
Plus it wasn't just one wipe it was three wipes worth
and later when it was just brown tinge I was only tinkling so I know it wasn't from the rear.
I am not saying the cheese make me bleed. but the cheese made me have an IBS episode which are usually pretty violent cramping and muscle spasms.
Those muscle reactions I think caused me to bleed.
Does that make sense?

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
definitely call the 'emergency' line for your dr's office, and explain your situation to the dr on call.
it seems unlikely that it was the cheese/IBS spurring this off.... it likely is something that needs to be checked out in the baby region......
good luck and try not to worry too much. I had an episode similar to this at 5 weeks, and everything was fine. it was a one time thing.... I WILL say, though, that it came 2 days after I had a very physically active day.... so maybe all of your errands and running around were a bit too much?
just stay off your feet until you get to the dr's......

If it is coming from the front and not the back I would definitely call your dr. The dr. can tell you whether it is something you need to worry about. I would call the dr. b/f going to the eR.

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
I would call the doctor NOW and NOT wait until tomorrow.
Eating something good or bad - is NEVER going to make Blood come out of there - EVER.
Something going on with the baby will.
I'm sorry - I wouldn't play the I am ok card when I have another life growing inside me.
If you had that much bleeding, you HAVE to get check out by a doctor and I am SURE the doctor will agree.

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
If it was "Bright Red" and "3 Wipes" worth I would have called the Dr. that instant!! Regardless of what you ate that should not be happening...epecially if something like that has never happened to you in the past (pre-pregnancy?) It would make more sense if it was coming from the other end....
Each office always has an emergency number no matter what time or day it is....definitely call!

Re: Uhm, Bright Red Blood & CM (TMI) ??? (LONG) nervous
the cramps could have caused you to dilate.
This may sound harsh but I think you'd be foolish to take this so lightly.
Bleeding is NOT a good sign in pregnancy.
Doesnt taker a "worrier" or alarmist to figure that out.
I think you've made the point clear you like to not worry.
IMO..you should be slightly worried and call.
Theres no doubt in my mind I would call my Dr. For bleeding of any kind.
Isisnt the safety of the baby the most important thing in your life right now?
Good luck. I hope all is well...

I'm glad you called. You have to remember that it's not about just you anymore. I hated dr.s before having Ava, but then I realized that I have to take care of myself in order to take care of her the best I can. I hope all is ok at the dr. tomorrow.

I'm glad you called! The other girls are right when they say it's not just you you have to worry about anymore - and that's how it's going to be from now on! I have a terrible fear of needles...but I had to get over that during my pregnancy because they needed to draw blood numerous times. And I got through it by telling myself it needed to be done for the baby. Take care of yourself!
