Um, what does this mean???

I just took the dog for a walk and noticed that there are orange and red flags all over my lawn, along with a lot of spray painted lines and arrows.

The flags say CL&P (connecticut light and power) and some say SBC ??? Some also say WARNING on them. WHAT?!?!?!? I'm freaking out a bit. I hope this doesn't mean that they are going to be digging up my entire lawn.

Anyone have any idea what this might be???? I'm going to call the electric company but who knows if they are there right now.....

Well I feel like an azz.

My DH figured it out.
We have underground utilities....and we are getting a fence installed soon.

So the companies are coming to mark where the underground stuff is, so that the fence people don't dig a post hole in the wrong spots. Whoops.

I seriously thought we were going to explode or something.

Yep, usually red is the electric line, blue is the water line, yellow is gas - but maybe your company uses orange.
