Um. Wteff was that? A nightmare? (LONG)
Christopher is an excellent sleeper. Says "niight niight" and goes right into his bed, rolls over and conks out.
So, last night we had a bit of a late night and he ate dinner around 8:15pm and went to bed at about 10 (not that late for him tho, usually he goes to bed at 9:30ish or so).
So, at 11pm, I hear "MAMA MAMA MAMA" in the WORST scream EVER and I rush in there. DH was home and came in too, he was shaking and crying. So we took him out and after a few minutes of us consoling him, he relaxed enough to take a cup of milk into bed with me.
We watched TV and then I said he had to go to sleep, he was allll ok, chattering about the dog, etc, so at about 12:30, I take him back into his room and he FLIPS OUT. DH and I were waiting for a THUD for him to climb out So after 15 mins, we go get him and he finally falls asleep in bed with me around 1:30 and I transferred him at 2:30 and he is still asleep now.
It was so strange, I mean, we really don't think he was in pain b/c he was so happy in our bed. I thought maybe a bellyache or a nightmare...
Needless to say I'm today.
Any input??

Well... I've researched extensively on night terror and nightmares because Thomas has had night terrors about 4 or 5 times in the last couple of months.
From what I've read...
Night Terrors happen within 1 - 3 hours after falling asleep inconsolable crying, flailing, etc. for a few minutes to a half hour or more resists comforting child is not really awake, eyes open, but not awake Can be triggered by being overtired or change in sleep schedule
Nightmares Happen much later in the night into early morning child is consolable and clingy - wants your comfort
It sounds like he had a night terror, but it sounds like a very short one... Thomas' last much longer.

Maybe something in the air last night?! Lol. Jenna who is 4 woke up about an hour after we put her to bed screaming and crying for hugs-then of course later on the thunder woke her up and she squirmed her way into our bed-I am today...
