Unbelievable!
I cant believe this!
My best friend emailed me yesterday. He is in Iraq and he asked if I could send some much needed essentials for the soldiers in his unit. He said that have nothing there (no toiletries, snacks, juices, etc.) When they go to the exchange, there is nothing there for them to get. They need the most basic of stuff. So I set up a drive at work...each family will hopefully bring in one item so I can send him a package for his exchange by next week.
But this just boggles my mind! Why arent they being provided for??????? They are fighting for our country and they cant even get a toothbrush?!??!?! It simply amazes me!!!!! UGH!

I would love to help.....FM details, I have a ton of deodorant, tooth floss, and razors that might help them. Is there a place i can drop them off at that would ensure it would get to them???

They are being provided for, unfortunately when shipments are sent, they go through tons of red tape and take weeks to be delivered.
We did this at our job last year and it took about 10 weeks before the troops got anything from us.
The whole process completely stinks!

Aww you guys are awesome!
I am having the drive at my job but I am in queens and I know many of you are not. I have a personal address that I am not sure I can give out but I will ask my friend if he has a general place to send them to.
And I am not sure if I agree with the statement that "they are being provided for"...I recently just heard that they dont even have armor for goodness sakes! Yes good people are providing for them...but I am talking about the people that SHOULD be providing.

I am sure it could be dropped off at an army base. The closest to me is Ft. Totten in bayside..not sure what is closest to you though.
