unemployment question
I don't know much about umemployment... how does it work... If you quit (or take early retirement) are you eligible to receive unemployment or do you have to be "fired"?

I think you have to be fired or layed off...... By willingly leaving your job you are ineligible for unemployment.

Leaving work voluntarily (quitting, or early retirement) makes you ineligible to collect. (Which is why it makes no sense to tell your boss, "No, you can't fire me, I quit!"... doesn't hurt him, just makes you unable to collect unemployment, even if it does feel better saying it... )

I agree. Although you can try to claim and if your company is unorganized and doesn't respond you can get unemployment. I've seen it happen.
