Universal FL
Any Universal experts out there? We are heading to Universal at the end of August for 2 days. We're staying at Homewood Suites very close to the park and have the tickets that allow us to go from park to park.
Our kids (11 and 8) are super into Harry Potter and are so excited! We definitely want to get the interactive wands...basically we want to do anything and everything we can do, as we don't plan on going back! =)
Looking for suggestions for what to do, when to do things, where to eat, etc, etc.
TIA for any advice you can share!

I would by their fast pass and hit the Harry Potter area first. They just opened a new ride on the Islands of Adventure side and the Hogwarts ride is the second busiest.
Toothless Chocolate Emporium at City Walk is great. The food in the park is good too for amusement park food.

I completely agree with above. The fast passes will help with the long queues at the Harry Potter rides. Be there when the park first opens and run to Harry Potter. Definitely take the Hogwarts Express in both directions.
I also agree with the Toothless Emporium. YUMMO!!!

Re: Universal FL
Go on Orlandoinformer.com for a touring plan! That site is GREAT!!! I would get to the parking lot an hour before the park opens, at least. You have to park, then walk a bit before even getting to the park area.

Re: Universal FL
I would skip the Universal Express Pass unless you are willing to really go all out money wise because they are very expensive. At the end of August, crowds are supposedly not terrible. Just maximize your mornings and evenings. You'll want to do that anyway due to the heat.
We take breaks in the middle of the day and try to eat lunch offsite, so I don't have much food advice, but the San Francisco Pastry company at USF has desserts and some sandwiches that are very good and there is never a line. We've also eaten at the big quick service near the Simpsons area and it was fine. Decent array of choices.
Frozen butterbeer is better than regular cold butterbeer.
Have fun!
