Re: UPDATE #1::::::Anyone up that could help.........Could I have lost my mucus plug at 29 weeks?!
Oh Tara You are in the best place you possibly can be at this point! I am sure they will do all they can to keep your little bean in!
On a side note, I do know of someone who delivered premature at 29w & the baby is very healthy. He had to remain in the NICU for quite sometime but he is home & going to be a year soon.

Re: UPDATE #1::::::Anyone up that could help.........Could I have lost my mucus plug at 29 weeks?!
OMG! How scary! Many women go for weeks without their mucus plug, and from what I understand the steroid shot that they gave DC to help mature the lungs really works well. Hang in there Mommy... you are doing what you can and I am sure your DH and the hospital staff are taking great care of you. Follow the doc's instructions to the letter when you do go home... No lifting. No getting up unless to pee or shower. You must be vigilant and really try to control yourself from lifting a finger. You must stay in bed/on the couch. You can do this! The baby will be healthy when he/she decides to make an appearance. The power of positive thinking really does make a difference!!
Sorry, I can't bring ya food... I'm at work right now!

i had a positive FFN and steriod shots at 25 weeks, and here i am almost 34 weeks. If they can control the contractions your gonna be fine. there are many things you can get to stop contractions. Plus i was on bed rest for 4 months, it works.

Re: UPDATE #1::::::Anyone up that could help.........Could I have lost my mucus plug at 29 weeks?!
lots of for you and your LO
My friend had some preterm contractions at 32 weeks. They put her on some meds and on moderate bed rest for a few weeks, and her little one stayed put until 40 weeks!
From what I understand, the steroids are excellent at developing baby's lungs, and the meds to stop the contractions along with bedrest are extremely effective.

I can give you a positive story. In 1979, my DH was born at 29 weeks gestation. He had no residual problems and is now a 6'4" EMT for the FDNY!

I can give you another positive story - my cousin was born in 1980 at 20 weeks gestation. That's almost 30 years ago and she's perfectly healthy to this day. Miracles happen. With the huge advancements in medicine, they can do even more today.
