Hi Girls,

Sorry, Ive been MIA!!! I have a lot of catching up with the posts! So first of all, Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon and Chat IconChat Icon Chat Icon to everyone!

I was visiting my family for the Easter Holidays in Corpus Christi and then I hopped-skipped-and a jump to NY with DH. He had an interview in Long Island for a new job. We were hoping that his current job would transfer him to NJ so that I could look for job with IF insurance. But, things at his job have come to a halt with job transfers to the Northeast.

But it's a mute point b/c DH got the JOb in Long Island! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat IconHis two-week training starts May 7 which means we will probably be there at the end of May or beginning of June. It's bitter-sweet for me b/c I will no longer be a car ride away from my parents but we are going to make every effort to see each other often.

Dh's new job means that we can afford to pay for IVF but we are hoping that our new health coverage covers it. They gave him paperwork but left out the packet that explains the benefits and tiers. So all it says is Empire Health Choice and Oxford Health. Im confused as to whether or not they offer seperate plans or if it is all the same. Does anyone know if Empire Health Choice the name of the Plan? If so, would you know if it covers IF. They are mailing us the info but the anticipation is killing me. Dh did say that in his conversation with his new employer, he mentioned that he and his wife just had a baby and that they did not have to put it in one cent. That alone is an indicator that the coverage is much better than ours ($3000 deductible and 20%)

Here are My other questions:
Does anyone have Empire Health Choice? Does it cover IVF?

I will likely go to SIRM but any feedback about your REs especially those who specializes in PCOS and Auto-Immune issues would be appreciated.

NOn-TTC related:
We will be living in Suffolk. We used to live in Nassau and being from TX, I am a little clueless of some of the areas in Suffolk. I do remember Port Jeff being nice. Do any of you know of any apartment complexes in that Area? We are going to check out Fairfield but are there any others. Also, DH doesnt want to live in a basement or a two family house.

I am so excited! Chat Icon I'll have no excuse not going to any of the G2G's. I look forward to meeting you!

Update 5/11:

Again, I am so sorry I haven't been supportive these days. But, I promise once I get this Move out of the way, I will be there for each and every one of you. YOu may even be sick of me! LOL

Last week we drove from TX to LI so that DH could have his car after training and to look for a place to live. And since I've been back in TX, I've been busy packing while DH is at training. So as you can imagine I am exhausted! I am pretty much packed up and I am now spending time with my parents, who currently live 3 1/2 hours away from me. I am going to miss my family. I'll miss the fact that they are only a car drive away.

Our move to LI will be next week! I can't believe we are doing this drive again!!! So, We must G2G in JUNE!

I finally found out about DH's insurance.....well, sadly, IVF is NOT covered! But, overall the insurance is much better then the one we previously had here in TX. We have 0 deductibles and no % down. So, I am very happy about that. This morning, I received a phone call from INCIID.org and they informed me that I was accepted for the Grant!! I guess my compelling letter was "Compelling"! But, they have made some changes about the grant. It has something to do with fundraising......not sure about the particulars, but I will find out soon. SIRM (Sher institute) is a participant, so I will be going to one of their clinics for IVF. I am thrilled that I will be going to SIRM. I went to one of their Clinics in Dallas and the only reason we didn't move forward was b/c of $$.
That's it in a Nutshell!

I want all of you to know that each and every one of you are in my thoughts and prayers! Baby Dust to all of you! SEE Y'all SooN!

Update 5/19

Thanks again everyone!

Well, sadly, my life as it is today mimics my IF journey. I am on the emotional rollercoaster ride......happy, stressed, sad, angry, hopeful.....

Most of my things are packed. Sadly, during the middle of me dealing with our move, my grandmother passed away and we just had her funeral yesterday. It was a beauitful funeral. It was great to see my whole family. But, sad that it had to take a tradegy to bring the family together.

Yesterday, my husband had to take several tests at his job. He passed!!!Chat IconChat Icon Had he not passed, his new company had the choice to terminate him or give him another shot. Thankfully, we didn't have to go that route!

I've been trying to catch up on all of the Posts. I will try to reply via FM or on the boards. It seems like there are a lot of new posters. We probably have to do a new intro.

Well, if you do not hear from me, it is b/c we are on the road to NY! We will be there 24th!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon to all!

Great news!! I don't know anything about the health plan -- it may even be a pick-a-chose type plan where Empire manages it but DH's emploter actually choses what is covered and what isn't - this is how ours is (United tho).

Pt Jeff is lovely, a bit out of the way of DH is on the south shore....W. Islip is nice too, and Sayville. There are a lot of nice areas, but Suffolk is pretty big - where is his job located?

Can't wait to meet you!!

I wasnt sure if Empire Health Choice was the name of the plan. I hope we get the package soon.

He will be out of MacArthur Airport in Islip. But, his job doesn't require him to live nearby. Actually, a lot of his new coworkers live in Connecticut. Chat Icon But, we want to be nearby in Long Island. I like Sayville and Bayport. Are there any apartments in that area? Another one of my requirements is that our apartment MUST have washer/dryer inside.

Don't know anything about the healthplan, I just wanted to say congratulations on the move.
As for apts, I believe Sayville does have a Fairfiled complex, if not, Bohemia definitely does. Good Luck!

I also have Empire insurance, and I believe it's a $50K lifetime coverage. They have lots of info on their website.

Re: M-I-A but I have some news and questions. Sorry so Long.

I was just wondering about you and I was going to send you a FM soon if we didn't hear from you!!!!!!

I know nothing about your insurance questions, sorry!

LI/IVF has an office in Port Jeff. and I think that you should at least look into giving them a try. If you need an OB/GYN I love mine and he is very close to where you will be living.

I hope this move is all positive for you and I would Love to go to a GTG.

PS. B/C you have been gone a while, my update is that I am almost at 11 weeks, feeling lousy with morning sickness but the pregnancy seems to be a "sticky" one. I think we last spoke when I was at like 6-7 weeks.

Re: M-I-A but I have some news and questions. Sorry so Long.

I will FM you mor einfo...but EMpire Healthchoice is Empire BCBS where I work.

Its not the same as Oxford, must be two different choices.

I have oxford now.

Both companies offer IVF, its up to DH's JOB what they offer, so no one can tell you at the insurance, only DH's job can tell you what they offer ( you shoudl know this by now Chat Icon Chat Icon )

Second...My suggestion, to work at MCArthur...Port Jeff is WAY too far to commute, but I guess he will eb away a lot etc anyway, but even from your Inlaw's....your talking at least an hour away in non traffic.

If you get a job outside that area, the commute will kill you.

Yay! I'm so excited that you're moving to LI!

I live in Selden, right near Port Jeff. There are apartment complexes in Port Jeff Station (I think it is the Fairfield - Fairfield Knolls, maybe?) and they look beautiful. We can be neighbors! I'm literally 2 minutes down the road from there!!

Also, I just started going to LI IVF in Port Jeff. Really nice office with a really great staff.

I hope I get to meet you too!
