UPDATE 9pm- WENT TO OB. A little more than i expected.
I have a Dr's appt tomorrow night anyway, but for the past day and a half, I've had a cramp-like ache on my left side. I would say it's the ovary area, and it's kind of like a menstrual cramp, but off to the side.
I have a history of ovarian cysts and ruptures and such, so this pain makes me a little nervous. There's also the possibility I pulled a little something in that area while having a m/s episode (either over the toilet or out the car window)... or it could just be regular round ligament pain.
Anyone experience anything like this? I'm going to call the Dr and see if they maybe have an opening for tonight instead of tomorrow...
UPDATE: Went to the OB tonight and they brought me right in for a sono. The baby looks great and still super wiggly . Strong HB at 145bpm. (S)he was hanging out upside down . Still measuring a day or 2 ahead.
After the normal external, the tech said that she wanted to do a quick transvag to take a look at my cervix... (red flag?!? i assumed she saw something a little "off".)
Transvag showed cervix is closed and 4.1cm ... but it also showed marginal previa. (see diagram from babycenter)
I'm only in the 2nd trimester. There's still plenty of time for the uterus to expand and the placenta to stretch a little further from the cervix each day...or at least that's what we'll pray for. Worst case scenario: the placenta doesn't budge, possible bedrest, certain scheduled c-section. Previa = Potential issue #1.
Sac B hasn't decreased in size, but it hasn't grown either. Apparently this isn't cause for concern just yet, as there is still plenty of time for that to absorb as well. = Potential issue #2.
As for now, I'm on pelvic rest and I'm supposed to take it as easy as possible. No exercise, no lifting, feet up when i get home, etc. NOTHING that would cause uterus contractions.
I'm also down another 3 lbs, making weight to date -18lbs. One day I'll wake up and not hurl... someday. Please.
Sooo overall, no really BAD news, but no relief either. We'll just keep .

Re: Did anyone experience round ligament pain in the ovary area?
I would think that round ligament pain is more "on the surface" like right below your skin rather than internal if that makes any sense? Do you feel it sort of "in" your ovary? Or is it "over" it?

Re: Did anyone experience round ligament pain in the ovary area?
Could just be normal cramping....or gas. Gas pains are pretty brutal during pregnancy. Round ligament pains are more on the sides of your abdomen.

Re: Did anyone experience round ligament pain in the ovary area?
Yes & it sucked. I was told to take warm showers while it was happening. Not ideal when you're a on a train but when I got home it helped.
With your history, it warrants a call to the doctor. My sister had a history of ovarian cysts which dissipated during her pregnancies.

Re: Did anyone experience round ligament pain in the ovary area?
Thanks ladies... i called the Dr, but they had no cancellations for tonight. They suggested leaving a message for the nurses to call me back, because they'll determine if this is urgent enough to make room in the schedule for me tonight.
It's definitely NOT surface pain - it definitely feels "deeper" than that. I guess I'll just wait and see!

Yes, with both pregnancies I have always gotten pain over my ovary that almost feels like ovulation pain especially on the right side for me. For me, everything always checked out OK.

Re: Did anyone experience round ligament pain in the ovary area?
I've had something similar, lower abdomen, but off to the left, but it mostly happens when I'm in the process of standing up. Kind of like a really strong muscle-pulling sort of thing. The dr. said it's the muscles around the uterus stretching (which I translated to round ligament pain).

Ok 2 days of bedrest & then the great news on the 12th that things are perfectly fine. Remember you have the all-powerful birthday wish at your disposal. Use it well!

I also had marginal previa too. Take Dr's orders and rest. In my case, the placenta moved and I was in the clear.

I have a low placenta too and I am on pelvic rest. Most of the time it moves so I hope that happens for the both of us!
Feel better and I hope your morning sickness ends soon! Our due dates are close and I just threw up again last night! I thought it would be over already!

Good to hear the ovary pain was nothing. Rest up! Hope that placenta moves away from the cervix and that sac B is reabsorbed.

I am glad that the issues that were discovered were nothing major & I guess the pain you were feeling was ok. So just rest up now
