Update: Dish Network: Ok, I know most of you probably won't have a clue

as to what I'm talking about, but I'll ask it anyway.

Is it just me, or has Dish Network recently changed their HD signal so that now every channel, whether it's HD or not, is automatically stretched to fit a 16x9 screen. I hate, hate, hate watching any program when the images are stretched and blurred.

Thoughts?

Update: I figured it out. There is a small "*" button on the lower left of the remote control. I had to press that until I got the format that I wanted.

My DishNetwork receiver has a setting so that it automatically "fixes" the signal to match the TV. I have an old-school TV, but everything looks fine because it fits the image to my TV.

Our does too. We do however have a newer tv but an older receiver.

I am so clueless.

the only reason I can tell is b/c I can't see the stripes on the soccer jersey's while I'm watching the game...

then again, I am blind.

if there is a magic button, that would be loverly.
