Update for all who have FMed me. Miss u all!
Hi,
I havent been on since today since I was placed back in the hospital a few weeks ago.
I just wanted to say thank you for all the FMs I wish I could have sent a message of some sort to let you know I am hanging in there.
My saga:
I went for a doctors appt almost 3 weeks ago and I was so dehydrated and was vomiting all over the floor that my doc sent me to Mercy ASAP. I was admitted on the spot. There I was put on all sorts of meds over teh days, phenergan, Compazine, Zophran, mecclazine and pepcid and a dry ceral diet and broth for the days I could eat something.
I finally got to the point where my nausea is 24/7 but not throwing up however the biggest problem is my stomach will let me take in some foods but wont digest it normally so I am losing even more weight. I have now officially lost 25 pounds. Which unfortunately is worse than the Hyperemesis in the Drs eyes.
I was allowed to come home for easter however I see my OB again on Thursday as they are monitoring me closely. If I am not able to keep a good amount of food down between now and then its back in the hospital and it may be longer term (maybe rest of pregnancy) as they are considering inserting a feeding tube (jutenotemy tube spl). We are preparing for the worse since I have been successful in only taking in a little soup, cantalope and fluids for today, anything else starts me gagging and sits in my stomach for hours.
The good news is that our baby is doing extremely well and measuring up to date. He/she weighs 3 oz and has alot of energy. I feel little flutters here and there and its all thats keeping me going. I am going through all sorts of emotions. Somedays I am happy to be pregnant and there are days I cant wait for it to be over. Sometimes I feel so guilty since I know so many would trade...

we are SOO happy to hear from you. I was afraid that was the case. I truly hope you are able to stay strong and be well. Can they have a visiting nurse come to you so you can be in your own home? i hope you don't have to go back to hospital but if you do, can you bring a laptop so we keep you company? i wish i could offer more advice for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

I am so sorry for all the difficulties you have been going through. Yes the important part is that the baby is doing well but I hope this gets easier for you!!

Oh sweetie I think all of us here are so glad to finally hear from you and know that you are doing better and that the baby is doing fine! So sorry what you're going throught though...so draining...I wish you nothing but the best and hopefully this will all get better!!!!

wow - that's alot to deal with, but you have such a positive attitude! i hope you are able to keep food down and digest it right away!!!!

At this point I think I am past the VNS. My veins are tiny and roll so the anesthesiologist was the only one who got the IVs started and if I get the jejunostomy tube like drs are suggesting my OB said the risk of infection is one he wouldnt trust me at home with. Right now I am just trying to stay calm.

I am so sorry that you are having a rough PG. It sounds like you have a great Dr who is really on top of things.
I am glad that your little bean is doing well through everything!

Ann, you have no idea how happy I am to see this post! I think about you all the time, I was praying everything was okay with the baby. I am so sorry for everything you have to go through...I never knew it could get that bad but you are such a strong person....Please FM me if you need anything!

Thank you. I dont feel that strong most days. My husband is the strong one to me. He doesnt show his fear. I know he is petrified especially for what the future may hold.
Believe it or not alot of women go through this. When I left this weekend I left one lady who has been in the hospital from wk 19 till now 29wks and another was admitted at 18 weeks. What scares me is that we dont hear these stories too often but after talking to the nurse she said its becoming quite common

We have missed you. Happy to see you back and see that at least baby is doing well. Hopefully the worst is over and you will not need to be admitted again....Good luck...feel better!!!!

You poor thing. I have been thinking about you for so long. I have been praying for you because I haven't seen you on LIF. Although you're feeling terrible, I'm glad baby is ok. You and anyone else who goes through this while preggo deserve an award.
