Sorry, but did people not think of everything before they had kids? Or did everyone think that everything would be roses?

Of course, people did not think of a pandemic. But seriously you had to have thought of other scenarios before you had kids.

Love that video!

I want to start by saying I love my kid and I love my life. Even if I knew there was a pandemic coming I would still have made the decision to have her. That said.... people can't joke about frustrations in their current situation that are so completely far from the norm??

No, I did not ever realize I would have to work from home, while my husband did as well, while also having my 2 1/2 year old home all day long with literally no place but our backyard to go for over 2 months already with no other human contact. That doesn't mean I'm complaining about having a kid, but clearly this is a less than ideal situation for all involved, and obviously took some time getting used to. I don't post a lot but this is a completely ridiculous and unempathetic argument.

Fine, joke about it. But some are really serious about this. It isn’t insensitive at all. I’m really tired of hearing how parents are annoyed by their kids. You made the decision to have them. Now deal with it.

Just because I am "dealing" with it doesn't mean I can't be frustrated.

Why are you so hostile to parents? Honestly - you never get frustrated with anything in your life? No ones life is perfect - we all are allowed to vent and be frustrated.

Im seriously trying to figure out how the fuq this post can be turned into drama.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Its a freaking parody making fun of multiple layers:

1. Parents working from home with their kids
2. Common core math
3. how kids can be @ssholes
4. how much a teacher has to deal with
5. Wifi passwords
6. wanting to day drink
8. crazy conference calls

Jesus Christ almighty. How can one person hate parents so much??Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Btw this was sent to me by my cousin who is a teacher dealing with alot of sh!t trying to teach her kids. Who also has no kids. And is scared to leave the house and hasn't left in over 20+ days, so needless to say they are taking this very seriously and stil thought it was hysterical.Chat Icon

So if being annoyed at your kids mean you should never have had kids- by that logic anyone who gets annoyed by a husband or boyfriend should never have gotten married or entered into a relationship....

Re: Funny Video - Moms Homeschooling

Love, love the I mom so hard moms. They are hysterical and I have seen them for a girl's night with friends. So much fun!

To the other posted... I get what your saying, but you have to laugh at life sometimes. You are allowed to complain.
I love my husband, but we always don't agree. Doesn't mean I should divorce him and I don't regret for one second marrying him.

I LOVE, LOVE my kids too. Do they get on my nerves some times. Yes! They are not robots. I'm sure you've had disagreements with your parents some times. My kids and husband make me a stronger person, but I do get tired and frustrated.

Oh, and no... I never expected in my entire life a virus would pretty much shut down the world. Nope! DId I think I could loose my job? Someone get ill in the family? Go through some struggles? Loose someone I loved? Yes!

Did I think a virus would take over everything where I'd have to homeschool my children and can't hug my parents or come close to friends. No and they do not say when you take your vows in sickness (the entire world shutting down ) and health.

So if being annoyed at your kids mean you should never have had kids- by that logic anyone who gets annoyed by a husband or boyfriend should never have gotten married or entered into a relationship....

Or getting annoyed with work means you shouldn’t have a job.

I love my kids, but I feel our quality time is taken away as I’m trying to teach them - which a parent should never be forced to teach their children as children believe their parents know nothing - and work a full day. So I work, teach and yell and work while they play on electronics. This isn’t the life I envisioned for them. I knew I wanted kids and that I would work but I thought they would be educated at the schools I pay a boatload of taxes for.

Basically I have no time to enjoy them as between teaching and work and laundry - my day is done.

And they aren’t happy. Their little lives were turned upside down too and we are bearing the brunt of their frustration they can’t fully explain. My 10 year old and I have been having screaming matches all week because he hasn’t been following simple directions in his google classroom. We usually have no issues.

Today he biked with a friend and his whole demeanor changed.

ETA - this video is awesome!

Funny Video - Moms Homeschooling

I think this video is hysterical, and I don't think the overall theme of this video shows parents getting annoyed with their kids at all. It's mostly about how the whole online learning system that all parents had to figure out so quickly can be extremely frustrating and ridiculous at times. Its definitely something that no parent could have ever predicted when they made the choice to have kids. And I don't believe any parent dealing with this situation is sitting there regretting their choice to have kids. But they are definitely frustrated with the overall situation of having to learn how to homeschool their children out of nowhere, many while also having work from home. Everything about this pandemic sucks. Adding distance learning on top of all the stress we are all already facing makes it suck more. There's enough serious serious stuff to stress about right now, that trying to figure out some of the ridiculous assignments being sent to our kids shouldn't be one of them. But that doesnt make me any less grateful for my kids. It just makes me sad for my kids that their awesome school years were cut short and now "school" is mostly busy work that takes longer to login and load than it actually takes to complete the assignment. And if we can't try to at least find some humor in all this, then what's left to enjoy at this point?

These anti parent comments are so weird. People vent about hardships.. Don't you think single or childfree people complain about being lonely during this? Or is it only parents that complain? I admit I get frustrated with homeschooling but I thank god everyday that I am a mom.

If you don't have kids and are tired of hearing parents complain about this sudden homeschooling situation, then why even open this thread? No one forced you to read it, but you are coming across as pretty rude to all the parents who have been struggling these past 2 months but have been doing the best they can to keep it together for the sake of their children who they LOVE VERY MUCH!

I’m a teacher. That’s why I opened it. We have all been struggling these past two months. I’m tired of hearing all complaining.

Not hostile at all. And, yes, I get frustrated. Shame you can’t see that I’m frustrated by hearing parents complain. Take your own advice.

It isn’t ignorance as another poster said. That poster needs a dictionary.

When U, yes U, say “you made the decision to have them. Deal with it”, it is indeed pure ignorance. U said I need a dictionary but do u have one? Apparently not, let me help u...
Ignorance
Do u have children? Do u know what it is to actually have children? No and apparently u’re lacking awareness of what it is to have them as well. Oh and keep picking on how I say things, it makes me giggle every time! Thank u!

Yeah, I can’t understand you. Speak English and try again. Lack of knowledge is not helping you.

That’s it?!? I expected more from u on this last reply. Don’t disappoint me on the next one, ok? Chat Icon

Don’t you have something better to do with your time? Like homeschool your children or not let them get vaccines? See you next Tuesday!

Seriously, maybe we get frustrated when you post about your weird relationship issues? Every time you post some weird issue, most of us try to be supportive and give advice. Advice that you don't take because you (for whatever reason) think it's perfectly normal for a man to disappear to his mothers house all the time, keep a house you're not really allowed to go to, but he won't get rid of, I could go on and on. You vent and ask for advice a lot. I don't recall anyone ever being nasty to you about it.

Maybe we should have said mean things to you while you were going through a hard time with your divorce. What if our responses were "You shouldn't have gotten married if you were just going to get divorced" "You should have thought that through before getting married". We get it, you don't approve of us complaining. It doesn't mean we hate our kids. It means that sometimes it's hard. If you're going to be bitter about a few parents venting, then don't open up threads that are directed towards moms or parents.
