Update on Andrew's Ear (with more pics)
I posted this morning that Andrew woke up and his ear was all red. Well, an hour later, it swelled up and looked so bad, he looked like Dumbo 
I called our pedi and since they have Saturday hours, the doc was there and said to bring him in. The pedi couldn't find a bug bite, but suspects that's what it is. We were told to put him on Bendaryl every 6 hours, and if it doesn't reduce the swelling, we have to start him on an antiobiotic tonight. If he's not looking any better by Monday, he pedi needs to see him again.
Let's hope that's all it is and he's better. The good thing is that its not bothering him at all, except he tells me it tickles sometimes (i.e., itches).

Thanks everyone! He took a long, drugged out nap from his Benadryl and he woke and its still all red and puffy, but the swelling went down. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed he's getting better.

My mom looked at it this afternoon (she's a nurse) and she told me it looked like a spider bite too!

Aww!!! I hope Andrew feels better soon!
Steven recently had what my neighbor(a pediatric ICU nurse) told me was a spider bite. It was red, hard and swollen. 2 weeks later the dot where the actual bite was is still there!!!!

Trish I was just about to post before your update....OMG, I can't believe the bite! I'm really glad he's feeling okay otherwise. I hope it goes away tonight, let us know.

I remember getting spider bites when I was younger and they were always nasty like that - HUGE and puffy and scary looking.
Poor guy! Hope it gets better soon....he looks so sad!

Poor kid
I think it may be a spider bite as well, I am one of those people that bugs LOVE and with a spider bite sometimes you can't see the defination, like a mosquito bite, KWIM?
Can you use Benedryl cream or cortisone cream for the itch? Or you can use salt water too to dry it out.
